The history of pofaderis
Part 1

This is a story about two children who wanted freedom in their lives. But at the begining, they had none.
Julie woke up with the sound of her tears still throbbing in her head. Her mama was gone. She got out of bed and looked through the window. “Another lovely day.” she said, “Without mama.” Julie thought she would tend the garden to clear her mind. She ran
downstairs and bashed into her stepmother.
“Julie, what on earth are you doing!” said her stepmother.
“I was coming to have breakfast so I can go outside...” muttered Julie.
“No time for that now Julie. Your father is coming home.”
“What? I- I thought after you, *gulp*, married, he said-“
“Julie! Go have breakfast now! Now I tell you! Go!
“Y-yes Miss Brickel...” Julie fought back tears as she continued down the stairs. How she wished her mama was here. She would have lifted her onto her lap and said:
“It’s alright my little Julie”, and everything would have been fine.
However, her stepmother had been lying to her father, to make him think she loved him and that she was lovely.
Nevertheless, Julie knew the truth. She could not understand why her father was coming home early, because when he married Miss Brickel he had said to her that he would be going overseas and would only return in one year. But now, Miss Brickel just said that he was coming home! It is not that Julie did not want him to come home, she just could not make out why, because it was only two months after he had left.
She went down into the kitchen and quickly had some toast and juice. She couldn’t hear Miss Brickel so she thought she would go out now. She stopped again just to make sure Miss Brickel was not about before she slipped out the door and into the garden.
The sun was very bright so Julie shielded her eyes. She picked up her watering can that her mama had given her and hugged it close. She remembered when she went with her father to the graveyard and put flowers on her mama’s grave. Julie sniffed. She went towards her little garden that she had made and stopped.
“What is that?” she thought she could hear something-
“OWWWWW!” cried a voice.
Julie spun around and saw Tom, her neighbour limping towards her.
“Tom, you do know that the reason you broke your leg was because you jumped off that wall and now you have just done it again?” She grinned at him. He was her friend from kindergarten and now he was her neighbour.
“I know!” Tom moaned,
“But I forgot. It has become a habit now- jumping over your wall!” he said.
“Ha-ha I don’t know if that’s good or bad! Tom do you know that my fa-“ Julie stopped in mid-sentence. She had put her watering can down when she had seen (or rather, heard!) Tom, and now she could not believe her very own eyes. Her watering can was GLOWING. Really!
Tom had obviously seen it too, because he was staring at it with his mouth open.
“Do you see what I see?” they both said at the same time and then they both nodded.
Curiosity overtook them. They felt like they just had to touch it. So, both reaching out their hands they made their way towards it. Then they did it. They touched it and everything went black.
Part 2

When they woke up, they seemed to be in the middle of a bush, and when Julie got out she saw nothing except trees, mountains and bushes.
“Zzzzzzzz… Zzzzzz zzz…” said Tom.
“Tom, wake up!” said Julie. “Where are we…?”
Tom woke up with a start. He got out of the bush and joined Julie at the top of a hill that looked out upon the land.
“I-I think when we touched the watering can it-it teleported us!”
“And where is the watering can?” muttered Tom. He looked at Julie. She seemed to be staring straight ahead, and so Tom looked to where she was staring. He thought he could see- yes see- music notes coming from behind the opposite hill!
“Do you see what I see?” they both said at the same time. They grinned at each other.
“Yes” said Tom, “Should we go see what is going on there?” he asked.
“Well, OK but what if we can’t find our way back?” said Julie.
“Well why should we need to go back?” asked Tom.
Julie twitched her fingers.
“Well... if we can’t find our way back to the bush ... and the watering can ... we can’t get back home!” said Julie.
“But why on earth do you want to go home? And also, I don’t think we can, look!” exclaimed Tom. They spun around and, of course, the watering can was hardly glowing anymore.
“You see!” said Tom.
“Bu-but-” stammered Julie.
“What? It is not like your stepmother is going to miss you!” pointed out Tom.
Julie felt the truth wash over her as she stood there watching the watering can’s glow slowly start to fade.
“I-I never thought of it that way. You are right Tom. But what about my dad?” said Julie.
“Your dad is far away.” said Tom.
"N-no, he is not! I tried to tell you but then the watering can started glowing, a-and-” Julie sobbed.
“What? But when he married your stepmother he said...”
“I know!” said Julie through her tears.
“But I can’t go back... so I suppose we might as well go see what those music notes are all about. Come!” said Julie.
Tom followed her to the hill. The music notes were still there, so they peered over the edge, they saw a circle of people sitting around a fire, and that was where the music notes were coming from. They went a little closer…
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!” they cried. Something had pushed them over the edge of the hill! Down they fell, and then they landed a little way away from the people that were sitting around the fire.
“Hmmm, should we wake them up? They can’t be dangerous.” Julie heard one of the men saying. She then felt someone shaking her gently and she slowly opened her eyes and looked around. Tom was right next to her, conked out completely. She got up to go find the man that had shaken her. She saw him a little way away and went over to him.
“H-hi? I am Julie, Julie Brickel, Tom and I, that boy there" she pointed to Tom, "got pushed over the hill.”
“Oh hi. My name is Fonex. Who pushed you over the ...” He stopped.
“Wait, is that your watering can?”
"Oh, yes it is mine."
He stared disbelievingly at a thing that was coming from the hill that Tom and Julie had fallen down.

Juie and Fonex
“That naughty watering can. I think it pushed us over the hill.” said Julie.
“Oh really! That’s funny… the Voice didn’t summon you…” muttered Fonex.
“What do you mean by that?” asked Julie.
“Well, this world was only created yesterday, and when it was created many people were summoned from all around the galaxy to live here and be free, and I was the first one summoned. We kept track of how many people had been summoned, and then the Voice came. It said:
Pofaderis may grow, but from now on, no more people will come via summoning. Enjoy this world, but always remember the old one. Until long, my friends.
... Well there you have it." said Fonex. Julie had been lost in thought, and then she finally spoke.
"So Fonex... if that Voice said no more people would come here by summoning... that means... that me and Tom were- were what? Called?"
"In my world that I come from, there is a legend about something like that. That after a world has been created, two- and only two- people will come after all the summoning has finished.
These people were known as the TSPs- the Top Summoned People. They were thought of as protectors. They would protect the world from any dangers that came along, look after the plants, forests and animals; and everyone would rely on them.
... So I am guessing that's what you and Tom are."
Fonex took a deep breath. Julie seemed to be dumbstruck.
"Y-you really think so? I mean- I am only thirteen, and Tom as well!"

Fonex smiled.
"So... you don't think that you and Tom are able to be TSPs?"
"Well... I mean... this is a big responsibility! Do you think we are ready to take on such a big thing?" asked Julie.
"Julie, you are asking the wrong person. Go discuss it with Tom, because you don't have to stay. I can always send you back to your old world..." said Fonex.
"Well... I will go talk to Tom and see what he thinks." said Julie. She turned back to where she and Tom had fallen.
"Tom! Tom! Come here!" Julie shouted to Tom. He came running from where he had been talking to one of the people.
"Tom! You will never guess what! I was talking to someone named Fonex and..." Julie told him all that Fonex had said.
Afterwards she said:
"So... do you think we should stay and be TSPs... or should we go back home and forget this ever happened?"
"What! And lose a chance to be Top Summoned People? No way!
I am staying here." said Tom.
"Well... I will stay if you stay." said Julie.
"Yes! You are the best! Come on! Let's go tell Fonex!" cried Tom.
They raced back to where Fonex was sitting and they told him about their disscusion and that they were not going home.

Then the party started. Everyone was there, and there was food and drinks for them all. Tom and Julie were named as TSPs.
As they grew they made Pofaderis flourish, and at the age of twenty-eight they got married. They had a little girl that Julie named Pearl, and their family lived in happiness and they looked after the people, the plants and the animals.
The watering can lived alone in a big house, standing forever on a shelf that over looked the garden.
