It´s a beautifull day. Mummy duck has got babies.

They are all small and beautiful except for one: He´s grey and ugly! He´s an ugly little duckling.

Mummy duck takes the baby ducklings to the river to play. They all get in the water and swim. Look at the ugly little duckling! He can swim very well!

Mummy duck: Quack, quack! Come back home to the farm yard!

Baby ducklings: Yes, mummy! Quack, quack!

They all follow her back to the farm.

They go straight to the farm yard.

There are lots of animals there. The horse comes up to the little ugly duckling:

Horse: I can run fast. I´m big and strong but you are so ugly! Go away!

The rooster comes up to the little ugly duckling:

Rooster: I can sing. I´m loud and colourful but you are so ugly! Go away!

The cat comes up to the little ugly duckling:

Cat: I can climb trees. I´m very clever but you are so ugly! Go away!

Finally the farmer comes up to the little ugly duckling:

Farmer: Oh, what an ugly duckling! Go away!

           So the little duckling runs away.

He walks and finally comes to a river with lots of beautiful swans:

Little Ugly Duckling: I wish I were beautiful like a swan but I am still an ugly little duckling!

                                Winter arrives.

Little Ugly Duckling: Oh dear. It´s snowy and cold now!

Time goes by and Spring arrives. The sun shines. Everything is fresh and green.

The little ugly duckling isn´´´ ´t baby anymore. He looks at his reflection in the river:

Grown up Ugly Duckling: Look at me! I m a beautiful white swan now!

I´m so lucky!
