Once upon a time, there was a pirate
ship sailing through the seas and the
oceans of the world in quest of a
precious treasure. Not a day went
by without the pirates seeking for
clues, hints or treasure maps in heavy,
dusty books, in the stories of old men
or in the sea itself. Years went by
without them finding anything...

Until one day...
"Hey, what's that over there?",
shouted Tina, the only girl pirate on board.
"It...it looks like a mermaid!, she cried out.

In a moment, all pirates had gathered
on the deck to find out what Tina was
talking about.
"Well, it sure looks like a mermaid",
said Captain Jack who never showed
his surprise or any other emotion.

When she saw the pirates looking at
her, the mysterious mermaid dived in
the water and swam away leaving
something on the rock she had been
resting.

The pirates quickly reached the rock
and took on board what appeared to
be...a treasure map! They could not
believe it! After all these years they
had finally managed to get a clue that
would lead them to their desired
destination, to a real treasure!

The map was carefully designed,
showing a red cross near a forest on an
island they could clearly recognize.
"It's the Turtles' island!", they all said
together.
"There is a treasure on Turtles' island?",
asked Tina, but she got no answer
as everyone was thinking there was
something strange about this map.
After all, they knew this island very well.

Without wasting any time, they sailed
to the Turtles' island and followed the
clues of the map, until they reached
the spot where the red cross was.

It was to their surprise when they
saw a huge turtle guarding her nest
which was full of tiny eggs. The pirates
were very frustrated until something
unexpected happened; the turtle
started talking!
"Please help me protect my eggs from
that horrible fox that lives on the island.
Soon my little turtles will be born and
they will never make it to the sea without
help."

Although they were disappointed for
not finding their treasure, the pirates
decided to help the giant turtle protect
her little ones, which got out of the eggs
a few hours later. In a way, they even felt
happy and proud of doing the right thing.

After saying goodbye to the turtle,
the pirates set sail again. It was to their
great surprise, when they discovered that
the mermaid who had mysteriously led
them to the turtle's nest, had also left them
a big treasure on the rock they had once
found the map...
The End
