The story is about the Ruffitybuffs, four children from an orphanage who are taken in by the new Rector of The Royal High School and his wife. They are cared for by Granny Hibbard and become a part of the school's culture. However, it is revealed that the Rector and his wife are Ogres planning to eat them. With the help of fairies, the Ogres are defeated and the Ruffitybuffs live happily in Twinkleland.
