The 2nd kindergarten of Peania was founded in 1968 in the city of Peania. Peania was an ancient municipality of Attica, home of the great orator and politician of antiquity Demosthenes. During the Ottoman rule the Paeans and Arvanites lived together, the area was called "Liopesi", a name of Arvanite origin.The emblem of the Municipality depicts Demosthenes Peaneas and the characteristic vine leaf, a familiar element of the Mediterranean flora.Peania today is a town in Eastern Attica in the Mediterranean valley. It is located on the eastern outskirts of Mount Hymettus, 17 km east of Athens and 4 km southwest of Pallini

The 2nd kindergarten of Peania was originally housed on the street behind the post office of Peania, in the house of Sideris (Mitsogiorga-nickname) for many years !!!

But there was a kindergarten in Peania since the 1940s as evidenced by photos, which we drew from the Facebook page Peania - Glyka Nera  "Delicious Imar"

For four whole decades, 1968 -2004 the 2nd Kindergarten continued to be housed at home behind the post office, and many children attended it, according to testimonies.

And the years went by ....

The kindergarten was co-located for a while with the 3rd Kindergarten of Paiania, before the construction of the new building in Pedoula Cyprus, where it is located until today.

Our kindergarten is housed from the school year 2004-2005, in its own building, modern with a very large yard.

The building consists of:

Three (3) classrooms.

Teachers' office.

Large multipurpose room.

Kitchen-dining room.

5 toilets (boys, girls)

1 teacher toilet.

Large yard equipped with instruments and toys, and space for use as a school garden.

Through the quality education of our students we contribute to the extent that belongs to us in the well-being of the community. Our students will share what they have learnt. We  inform (through our students and not only) and activate the local community, in order to form Active Citizens, who will take action on many issues that concern us (them). As future active citizens, they will cooperate, communicate and share our actions. Through our participation in national and European programs we have set the base and our position has been outlined for the elimination of many stereotypes, gender, nationality or religion and the change of attitude in these areas. With the inclusion of STEM education in our teaching, the priority has been given to avoiding stereotypes that boys consider best in the sciences.

Our school has been named E-twinning school for  two years 2021-2022, and R4C and OSOS school. It has implemented many innovative programs and has been awarded national and European labels. At the same time, it participates in one  Erasmus + ΚΑ229 entitled DEMOCRAC (Z) Y - Crazy for active participation and in 2 Erasmus ΚΑ3 entitled Setting an Agora for Democratic Culture, and Reflecting for Change (R4C).We also participate in three Erasmus project ΚΑ 210 entitled: Little Einsteins, Thinking, feeling and acting in harmony with nature and Inclusive Education

Evangelia Triantafyllou was born in Arta Greece. Basic studies: Pedagogy. Graduate of the Department of Preschool Education of DEMOCRITUS   UNIVERSITY OF THRACE . Postgraduate studies: At the Department of Preschool Education of the Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is an E-twinning instructor in the courses: Utilization of portable devices in teaching and Educational Robotics in kindergarten - Beebot. She is a Leading Teacher of European Code Week and a Scientix Ambassador in Greece.
