W pewnej wsi mieszkały dwie dziewczynki Dorotki.

Two of Dorothy's girls lived in a village. 

Mieszkały w jednym domu, były przyrodnimi siostrami.

They lived in one house and were half-sisters. 

Jedna była pracowita i dobra, zwana Sierotką. Druga była leniwą i złośliwą,  ale ukochaną Córeczką mamusi.

One was hardworking and good, called an orphan. The second, lazy and malicious, but beloved mother's daughter. 

Pewnego dnia Sierotka wpadła do studni z wodą. Ale nie było w niej wody, tylko przejście do innego świata.

One day, the orphan fell into a well with water. But there was no water in it, only a transition to another world. 

Sierotka zrywa gruszki z drzewa i wyjmuje chleb z pieca.

Orphan plucks pears from the tree and takes the bread out of the oven.
