Who are you?

My name is Emmanuel Pappas. I  was born in Dovista, Serres regional unit, which is now named after me (Emmanouil Papas). I was a son of a priest, Pappas excelled in commerce and banking, not only in Macedonia, but also in Europe, establishing trading posts in Instabul, Vienna and Budapest, despite the limited education I received.

I gave my life for you, kids, to be free in your country now. I fought for liberty, justice and democracy.

Now, my statue adorns the central square. I 'm very glad, because every day I can see kids playing besides my statue, babies strawling, all kind of people sitting near me in benches, talking, laughing...

I'm a part of city life, just as I was dreaming.
