Ava was very excited for her first day of Kindergarten. She couldn't
wait to meet new friends at school.

When Ava got to school, she saw that all of the girls had princess theme or bright color clothes, backpacks and
shoes. Ava was sad that she didn't have cool clothes like them.

Ava met lots of new friends and after she ate snack, it was time to go out to recess.

Ava walked out into the hall by her locker.She watched as all of her friends put on their bright coats,
and tied their laces tightly, ready to run out to recess.

Ava became very sad. She couldn't zip her coat by herself.
She needed the teacher to help her.

She also never learned how to tie her shoes so she couldn't run fast out to the playground
like all her friends.

That night at supper, Ava’s parents asked her how her first day of school was. Ava broke down in tears. “I can’t zip my coat or tie my shoes like all my other
friends. I don’t even have cool princess clothes like them!” cried Ava.

“Well how would you like it if we go to the store after supper and you can pick out your very own outfit to wear to school tomorrow?
It can have whatever princess you want on it,” said her father.
Ava thought that was a great idea, so after supper they went to the store
and she picked out the perfect outfit.

The next day at school, all of her new friends loved her princess outfit. But when it was time to go outside to recess
Ava became sad again. “What’s wrong Ava?” asked her
friend Molly. “I can’t zip my coat, I don’t know how.”
said Ava. “I can help you! I will teach you how to do it!”
Molly replied.

All of a sudden, all the students began tightening their shoelaces, getting ready to run out to recess. Ava began crying
again. She looked around and Molly was gone.
Molly where are you?

“What’s wrong?” asked a little boy named Liam. “I can’t tie my shoes tightly and run fast like everyone else.
I’m always the last one out to the playground,” cried Ava.
“I can tie your shoes tightly for you, and I can even teach you if
you want,” replied Liam.

That day they spent their recess together,and Ava learned how to tie her shoes.

The next day when it was recess time, Ava was the first person out onto the playground. “See, I knew you could do it!” said Liam.
“Yeah, I just needed to ask for a little help!” Said Ava.

Ava spent the rest of her Kindergarten year always being the first one out onto the playground.
