Once there was a cow named 

Matthew.

Matthew was a skinny 

type of cow. He wasn't to 

tall either.

It was Matthew's first day 

at school and he wanted to 

find some friends.

He looked and looked and found a monkey 

named Zane. Matthew said “Do you want 

to be my friend?” “No,” said Zane. “You're 

too small and I'm too tall,” said Zane. 

“Oh,” Matthew sighed and went away.

Then he saw Zac the duck in the 

playground and said, “Do you want to be 

my friend?” “No,” said Zac. “You're too 

small and I'm too tall,” and off Matthew 

went.

He saw Davin the fish in the classroom and 

asked him, “Do you want to be my friend?” 

“No,” said Davin. “You're too small and I'm 

too tall,” Matthew sighed.

Matthew wondered if he would ever grow? He had 

an idea.

He would tie his front hooves to a branch and his 

back hooves to a rock. This would stretch him out 

and make him taller.

Cameron the parrot walked past. Matthew thought 

he would try one more time. “Do you want to be my 

friend?” “Yes,” said Cameron, “but you're taller than 

me,” he replied. “Thats OK,” Cameron said.

Cameron the parrot asked Matthew if he had any 

friends, "Do you have any friends?" "No," he said. "I 

asked and asked but no one wants to be my friend 

because I'm too small." Then Cameron had an idea. 

Cameron got all his friends together so he could tell 

them it's OK to be small. 

A little time later Zane, 

Zac and Davin saw 

Matthew and said “Do you 

want to be our friend?”

“Yes,” said Matthew 

and they all lived 

happily ever after.
