There once was a tree outside Lenny’s house.

Lenny’s house was up on the slope where the 

wind blew and where the clouds were.

His best friend was the tree outside his house.

Tree stayed all year with Lenny. In summer, 

winter, fall and also in spring.

Tree liked Lenny, and he liked Tree too.

But one day, Tree was sick.

Lenny was so sad and he wanted to help Tree 

to recover. 

But Tree was getting weaker every day.

Lenny went into the house and asked his Mum,

“Mum, Tree is sick. What should I do?”

“Lenny, Tree will be fine. Don’t worry,” Mum 

replied.

Lenny tried everything that he could. 

But Tree didn’t get well. 

When Tree died, Lenny cried and cried every 

day.

Lenny and his Mum buried Tree beside Lenny’s 

house.
