The students of the eTwinning project MeteoroloKids wrote two common tales: the tale starts in the same way - a kid finds a strange box that contains a terrific prophecy.
The prophecy is about appalling disasters occurring in the future because of the climate change - but then it continues in 2 completely different plots.
Part 1, the White Book tells how the kid and his friends can avoid the disasters.
Part 2, the Black Book, tells the story of the disasters caused by the climate change.

"Lost in the woods, Jake stumbled upon a mysterious box half-buried under vines. His fingers tingled with anticipation as he carefully opened it, revealing an old scroll inside. As he read the words, a chill ran down his spine - it was a prophecy about the future, filled with warnings of disasters caused by climate change. Jake's mind raced with thoughts of rising seas and wild weather. "Could this really happen?" he wondered. The scroll seemed to hold secrets that could change everything. With a mix of curiosity and concern, Jake knew that this discovery was the start of an extraordinary adventure—one that might help save the world from the danger it described".

A Call to Action
Chapter 4 (Minka Mincheva, Bulgaria)
The words on the flyer spoke directly to Jake's heart. He knew that climate change was an important issue.
First, Jake shared the flyer with his classmates, teachers, and neighbors, urging them to join him in his mission to protect the environment and preserve the planet for future generations.
Jake decided to organize a meeting in a community park to discuss concrete actions that could be taken to combat climate change. People of all ages and backgrounds gathered to share their ideas, from planting more trees to reducing plastic waste and advocating for clean energy solutions.
Chapter 4 (Minka Mincheva, Bulgaria)
After a spirited discussion, the group reached a crucial decision: they would work together to promote sustainable practices in their community, from recycling and composting to supporting local farmers and reducing their carbon footprint.
Jake felt a sense of pride. He had taken the first step towards making a positive impact on the world around him and stopping climate change in its tracks. Jake knew that every small action counted, and he was committed to being a steward of the environment for years to come. But suddenly next day ...

Jake wakes up breathing heavily. The previous night he had had an unpleasant nightmare. He arrives at the park near the leafy forest, the same one where he found that scroll. He meets his friends there. “Here, Jake!” Shouts Lisa, the youngest girl in the group. All the children look happy and confident, which calms Jake down, and he walks over and says, “Hey, guys! Today is a good day to continue with our super mission, huh?”

His friends nod, but Tom is worried and says: “Yes… Sure, but…" "Tom, you didn't sleep much last night, right?” Jake smiles nervously “Ha, well… Not really, I had a really… bad nightmare.” Erika and June's smile fades away. "A nightmare? What a coincidence, June and I too…” Jake remains silent, generating silence, but Herbert immediately breaks it, curious: “And what was it about?"

Chapter 7 (Susana)
After talking about the unpleasant nightmare they had had, it couldn't be a coincidende: the solution was at their school and inside children.
Jake and his friends went to the headmaster's office, they told him what had happened and he decided to collaborate with the children.
Some hours later the whole school met at the assembly hall. They started a discussion and everybody decided to organise children in bands that they called "The Rainbow Band". Each class would be represented by a color (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) and they would be in charge of a mission.
Chapter 7 (Susana)
The youngest children would be responsible of the easiest tasks and the oldest ones, the most dangerous tasks.
The first thing that children and their teachers did was to put on T-shirts of their colours. Then, they met again in the playground of the school and teachers carried a poster of their colours to avoid children to be lost.
Then, the director started speaking: "Good afternoon, boys and girls! It is time to tell you your missions..."

"Red Team," the director began, "your mission is to raise awareness in our community about the importance of conserving water. Create posters and presentations to educate others on ways to reduce water waste and conserve this precious resource." The children wearing red shirts cheered enthusiastically.
"Orange Team," the director continued, "your mission is to reduce plastic waste in our school and neighborhood. Find ways to minimize single-use plastics and promote recycling and reusing materials whenever possible." The children in orange nodded eagerly.
For the Yellow Team, the director assigned the mission to plant trees and create green spaces around the school helping to combat carbon emissions and providing

habitats for wildlife. For the Green Team to promote sustainable transportation options, encourage walking, biking, and carpooling among students and families to reduce carbon emissions and air pollution. For the Blue team organizing community clean-up events. For Purple team to organize a series of clean-up events to remove trash and pollutants from our waterways. For Indigo team to cultivate green spaces and promote biodiversity in our community. Each task was crucial in the fight against climate change.
As the meeting came to a close, Jake and his friends felt a surge of determination. They knew that they were part of something much bigger than themselves "a movement to save the planet and secure a better future for generations to come. And so, armed with their colorful shirts and a shared commitment to the planet, Jake and his friends set out to change the world, one mission at a time...

CHAPTER 9
The Reds and the Oranges missions
Chapter 9 (Chiara)
Tom, the leader of the Reds, knew that they couldn’t fail their mission:their future, the future of the new generations, of the earth was on the stakes.
The band thought that there was no time to lose, so during the night the Reds reunited in Tom’s cellar and, after a short discussion, they understood that maybe their friends and people around the world weren’t aware if they were good water savers or bad ones, therefore they created a game :”The water saver traffic light”, in which each answered question corresponded to a traffic light colour:
red → bad saver
yellow →on the right way to become a good saver
green →excellent saver
The questions were about people’s daily behaviour while using water, for example how long they used to leave the tap open when they washed their teeth, their faces, their hands, had a shower, and how they used waste water.
After that, they created posters and booklets containing the link of their game and the rules for becoming an excellent water saver.
The morning after, they distributed the posters and the booklets in each building all around the school neighborhood…but Tom and his band knew it wasn’t enough. All the people in the whole world should have played their game to be aware of their wrong or good behaviour, so they asked the help of their teacher, Misses Blue, to create videos representing them while using water in the right way. Misses Blue uploaded the videos on youtube, the link of their game and the e-booklet on internet.
To their amazement, Tom and the Reds realized that their videos , game and booklet soon started receiving thousands and thousands of views, messages of thanks for helping understand how wrong were some behaviours. They also received videos back showing people applying their rules.
"Tom, you and your band did a good job!" said proudly the Director, "the water of our planet is in good hands now! Proud of themselves, the Reds shouted “Mission accomplished!”
Chapter 9 (Chiara)
That same night…“Erika” said June, one member of the Orange band, “What can we do to stop plastic pollution?”Erika suddenly shouted:”I’ve got an idea! Why don't we contact all the owners of the supermarkets in our country to let them understand that food must not be packed in plastic container,no longer, because it is dangerous for our health, for our seas, for our earth, it is highly polluting.Let’s create an invitation and let’s ask our Director to have the meeting in our school". Two days after, with the help of their Director, all the owners of the main supermarkets in Erika’s town participated to the meeting. All the children out of school welcomed the owners singing their motto “No plastic, it’s fantastic”.The owners were worried about this but they wanted to listen anyway from The Oranges what was their solution. The answer soon arrived… the solution was “containers made of paper and cardboard".Not only the leaders accepted to try paper and cardboard containers but they also proposed to help them collecting all the plastic wasted, through a game “the Derby of plastic bottles”: divided into two main groups the students had to collect all the water bottles on the ground and put them into two big “water bottles eater machines” , one red and one green, settled in their school courtyard. The team who first filled its machine won 5 cents for each bottle collected and the amount of money won was used to buy school materials for students in economic difficulties. All the bottles collected were brought to the recycling factories.“Yes, but, how can we do to make people remember forever that plastic is polluting and never forget it?” said Mariam, another member of the Oranges. We can create a monument! said Erika. “A monument?” replied Mariam! “Yes, my idea is that the monument must make people remember how plastic is wrapping our world”. The band asked to each recycling factories to have a small amount of the collected plastic. It created a big water bottle with a small earth planet inside, put them in the center of their town, organized a flashmob to sing the climate song “Do it now” in the same square where the bottle was settled down. This event attracted the attention of all TVs in the world whose videos became viral and other schools decided to involve the owners of their town supermarkets in the fight against plastic. “Finally our world is plastic free” shouted Erika proudly.

Chapter 10 (Elçin)
Jake and his friends were excited by the Red and Orange teams' successes. These achievements motivated the other groups to help stop climate change.
The Yellow Team, led by Sophie, was next. Their mission was to plant trees and create green spaces around the school to reduce carbon emissions and provide homes for wildlife. Sophie knew it was important to get the community involved, so she organized a "Plant a Tree Day." The Yellow Team made colorful flyers and handed them out in the neighborhood, inviting families to come and plant trees in the schoolyard and local parks.
On the day of the event, many families, teachers, and students showed up with shovels and saplings, ready to make their surroundings greener. The Yellow Team had partnered with a local nursery to provide various native trees and plants. As everyone worked together, there was laughter and a sense of unity. By the end of the day, many new trees were planted, and the once bare schoolyard had transformed into a budding oasis. Sophie was proud to see the newly planted trees and the smiles on everyone's faces.
Chapter 10 (Elçin)
Meanwhile, the Green Team, led by Sarah, focused on promoting sustainable transportation. Sarah knew that encouraging walking, biking, and carpooling could reduce carbon emissions and air pollution. She started a "Green Commute Challenge" at their school. The Green Team created a system where students could log their eco-friendly commutes and designed badges and rewards for those who consistently chose sustainable transportation methods.
To start the challenge, the Green Team organized a "Bike to School Day." They decorated the school entrance with balloons and banners, creating a festive atmosphere. Local businesses donated prizes, like bike helmets and gear, to encourage participation. The response was overwhelming—students and parents embraced the challenge, with many forming carpool groups or biking together. The school's parking lot, usually filled with cars, now had rows of bikes, and the air felt fresher. Sarah and her team knew they had sparked a lasting change in their community's commuting habits.

Chapter 11 (Sophie)
Soon after, a school assembly was organized by the headmaster. It seemed important to gather all the active team to share the positive actions that were undertaken and help sensitize more and more people
Jake, Sarah and their team mates delivered a speech explaining and reminding the emergency of the situation. But their ultimate aim was to encourage the other students from the school, their families and whole community and neighborhood to take part to the successful initiatives that had been started by the Reds, Oranges, Greens and Yellows.
Indeed they insisted on what had already been achieved thinking it would be even more motivating. And they were right! The audience was amazed by what had already been done and felt even more willing to collaborate.
They wanted their three missions to be as efficient as the ones led by the Reds, Oranges, Greens and Yellows. Volunteers were more numerous than what had been expected and they decided to name leaders to coordinat e the actions.
Chapter 11 (Sophie
The blue team planned which areas of the community would be cleaned up. They gave the volunteers all the material they would need: a map of the different neighborhood not to forget any, gloves and large bags that were different colours as they meant to recycle all the rubbish they would pick up.
The purple team were given the same material and boots to clean up both sides of the river and they were divided into sub teams so as to cover an even larger area.
The indigo team, also nicknamed the “Garden Committee”, decided to organize a meeting with the school headmaster to warm up and gather all their ideas and decide what to start with and how they could begin. The pupils loved the idea of cultivating green spaces inside the school and their community. They made up their mind about which plants to grow and how to design the vegetable garden. They drew patterns, wrote down a checklist, they wanted to anticipate every detail: fruits and vegetables beds, annual and perennial flowers beds (butterfly and pollinator beds), trees and shrubs, irrigation, storage shed, composting area, sink, just to name a few!

As Jake held the old paper tightly under his arm while walking home, he felt something strange. The sky, usually a bright blue, now looked dark and scary. Distant loud noises came from the sky, and the wind blew the leaves around him. Was it because of the old paper he found in the woods? As he got closer to his house, Jake's heart started beating fast. He opened the door and saw his parents watching the TV with worried faces. "Mom, Dad," Jake said, "something weird is happening. I found this old paper in the woods, and now the sky looks strange."
His parents looked at each other with concern before going outside with Jake. They saw the clouds moving strangely and felt the air change. It was like the world was about to do something very surprising. Little did they know, this was just the beginning of a very exciting adventure. Suddenly, a bright flash of lightning lit up the sky, followed by a loud clap of thunder. Jake's parents exchanged nervous glances, and Jake felt a shiver run down his spine. Suddenly, polar bears and melting iceberg figures appeared in the air. Jake immediately understood what the symbols were about: the prophecy. He pondered what to do next. Jake decided to talk to his parents because his father was an anchorman. Jake explained that there were weird symbols in the sky, and he believed they were connected to the prophecy he had read. However, his father dismissed it as nonsense. Undeterred, Jake showed him the symbols.

Despite his father’s skepticism, Jake persisted. Feeling desperate, he recalled Charlie’s advice. Charlie, Jake’s childhood friend and neighbor, was someone he trusted implicitly. Jake hurried to Charlie’s house. As soon as Charlie opened the door, they retreated to his room. Jake asked Charlie what was going on, and Charlie replied that they needed to take action. Charlie retrieved the prophecy from his bag, and at that very moment, the prophecy’s lights began to glow.

Stop it!” she screamed. Charlie opened the window, and Jake immediately threw the prophecy out. Chloe wanted them to explain what had just happened, so they did. As soon as Jake explained to her, Charlie looked out of the window and saw the sky turning red. “Guys… I think you’d like to see that,” he said, fear in his voice. People from the same village came out of their houses, looking at the sky. “This prophecy has some strange powers… It’s influencing climate change… It's not good,” said Charlie as he continued looking out of the window. Chloe became scared, tears streaming from her eyes. “Are we going to die, Jake?” she asked him. He hugged her and said, “Of course not, we are going to face this adventure together.”
She smiled and hugged him back. Charlie noticed more people running back to their houses, so they packed some things in their backpacks and all of them ran out. “What are you guys up to? It was just on the news to stay inside,” said Jake and Chloe's mom as they were putting on their shoes. “Have fun, y’all, just take care,” said their dad, while watching the TV. They smiled and ran out. While they were walking, Jake told Charlie and Chloe where he found the prophecy. After walking for 15 minutes, they arrived at the forest where he found it. “Guys, it’s getting so hot, what’s going on?” said Chloe as she took off her jacket. “It’s all part of climate change, Chloe,” said Charlie, when the..."

While they were running over the tall tree fallen over the river, the black bear was very close to them but suddenly he slipped and fell into de frozen water and the prophecy scroll, too.
