David is a lovely boy, very sweet and very curious. He goes to kindergarten. He is a very good observer. At school his teacher tells him about the importance of science and they do experiments together from time to time, which is the most enjoyable activity for David.

This week in David's school was "Science Week", so he himself, Mrs Athena and his friends Catalina, Aleyna, Vasco, Ramojus and Theodore did a lot of experiments. They performed experiments with water, air, magnets and every natural element. They enjoyed very much doing experiments, because the had the chance to learn a lot of things.

Last week David’s family went on a walk to the nearest forest. David with his mother, his father and his sister Maria wanted to take a picnic there, so they found a very nice place by the lake and sat there to enjoy their meal. It was a beautiful, sunny day, a perfect day for a picnic!"

As they were eating their lunch, David was observing the nature around him. Then he saw a leaf fall into the lake. The leaf was floating like a little green boat and David was very happy, until he heard a loud….SPLASH!!! It was a rock! Maria threw a rock into the lake and the rock went missing! Where did the rock go?

The rock disappeared... But where did it go? It was a beautiful rock... Then, he remembered his teacher and his friends! One day in Science Week they talked about which objects float and which ones sink! David and Maria then started to throw every kind of objects into the lake! ''Let's see'' the said. ''Which ones are floating? And which ones are sinking?''

That day David learned from his parents that some things sink in water, but others can float. So, being curious to show this to his colleagues at the kindergarten, the next day he proposed to the teacher to show his colleagues that a stone sinks in water. His teacher was very enthusiastic about his idea and proposed everyone to do an experiment called: "Does it float or sink?" All the children were amazed! From that day their classroom became a world of experiments!

    First,  children went hunting for leaves, learned how to use a hammer and had fun making green prints from chlorophyll on the white sheet. Then they put the leftover leaves in the wheelbarrow and had a fun race on the grass.

    David and his kindergarten classmates were getting ready to go to the yard with their teacher for another day of fun outdoor activities.  But, suddenly they noticed that it started to rain quite hard, so they all got a bit sad... 
    Only David thought for a while and then asked: "Where does the rain come from?"  So their teacher came up with an idea.  And she said to them: "Let's learn more about water!"  
    And so the children spent the day experimenting with water. They learned how water changes in nature at different temperatures and had much fun making a "mini rain in a jar" too.  
    Thus their day turned out to be a lot of fun.  

    "How interesting the water is!", they all exclaimed.

David told his friends at school about last weekend. His friends listened happily. Then his friends told David about the weekend. David listened happily. There were birds flying in the sky. One of his friends told him that last weekend he planted birdseed in the ground and watered it and after a while it germinated. David imagined it. He said, “I could do that too” and a cloud of thought immediately formed in his head. It was a really great idea. It was impressive that the birdseed turned into a plant.

It was quite fun and surprising to learn by trying. After the volcano experiment, David and his friends asked their teachers many questions about the topics they were curious about. There was so much they wanted to learn... David's teacher came up with a great idea. He created a list of experiments on topics that students were curious about. Each student will prepare for an experiment of their own choosing and will be implemented in the classroom. David and his friends loved the idea. The classroom looked set to be filled with an atmosphere of curiosity and discovery.

His friend Yakup was going to do the first experiment. He prepared all the ingredients. He poured the milk into an empty container, dropped a few drops of colored food dyes onto the milk. He dipped the ear swab into the detergent and touched it on the food dyes. A visual show emerged. The children were very surprised and had fun. Yakup told his friends that if we wash our hands with soap and water, germs will spread around like paint and we will be healthy.

David was getting more excited and happier with all the experiences he had already done.

He was at school talking about his experiences when he saw his friends playing with gloves. They blew the glove and of course, with the air that entered, the glove became "fat" and with the shape of the hand, which also reminded him of a chicken.

This experiment seemed incredibly fun to him, and he proposed to his friends that they do a job: to make a chicken with a glove full of Air. With a paper cup they made a small hole where they put a straw. On the glove they glued some coloured feathers on each finger and on the thumb, they made the chicken's head. They attached the glove to the glass with an elastic band and then it was just blowing.

They played all afternoon with the beautiful chickens!

At the end of the school year, David and his friends gathered in the classroom and remembered many of the experiments they had carried out in the classroom, at home with their parents and family and when they travel around. 

The teacher had the idea of bringing together all the experiment protocols and create a book with all the experiences they had done and, that way everyone would have a memory of that school year. The children love the idea and decide,  as David was one of the most enthusiastic about science, to give it the title: "David`s Science Travel" .
