This book comes up within the scope of the Project «Ler para Crer Ler».
This project intends to develop a more inclusive and integrating school through Reading and Writing.
This work is articulated between the School Library, the classroom and the valences of the Specialized Support Unit.
It is a version in pictograms, adapted from the original story with the same title, written by children of the 3rd and 4th grades.
The illustrations were drawn by pupils of the 1st and 2nd grades, as well as by children with special needs.

What colour is our school?
Hello, how are you doing? We are children. We like to play, study, work as a team, have and give lots of ideas because we're creative.
Our school has so many colours that we cannot tell what colour the school is.
We have already discovered that it's where we learn, it's big, it has lots of people and it's fun. School is our great friend. It's our magical house.
In this magical house, not only are there lots of colours, but there's also a team of boys with superpowers.
We experimented with them. We mixed, stirred and discovered that...
Our school is orange.
It has an orange slide.
This slide is in the playground, where one sunny day someone came down and heard a scream.
Henrique, being a boy with special powers, ran to try to help. He tried to figure out what was going on, but he could not understand why a classmate could not stop crying.
Henrique told him to take a deep breath and after a while the boy calmed down.
He had only been frightened by a tiger.... They went to look and it turned out to be just a stuffed tiger making sounds.
Orange could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is yellow! Yellow brown.
Because when the sun rises, our school shines.
We love the sun and we like to shine with it when we go to the playground.
On a day when the sun was shining like never before, the superheroes saved us from an angry basketball that was tired of being used.
Everyone tried to dribble the ball, but it bounced higher and higher and ran away.
The boys with special powers came up with a strategy: they surrounded the ball together and managed to get it into the twisted yellow brown hoop.
Yellow brown could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is aqua green! That's for sure!
Because every now and then a mermaid with a tail of aqua green scales bathes in our shower.
Her scales shine so brightly they look like emeralds.
She's the little mermaid. She was invented by the Danish writer and lives in Copenhagen, but sometimes she comes to visit us.
When she visits, she always brings lots of algae and aqua green fish, which leave our bathroom smelling like the sea.
This mermaid loves to sing to everyone, especially our super-powered mates.
Aqua green could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is green! Just green. Neither dark nor light, neither water nor lemon.
See if we are right:
The most fun activity we do in the multipurpose room is when we talk about food: very green fruit and vegetables. Apples. Peppers. Lettuces.
Diogo likes to talk about green things and tell jokes that we laugh our heads off.
On the day of the funniest activity, he saved us because a giant green broccoli appeared.
Right there, in that room, he talked to the vegetable, who agreed to be everyone's friend.
Green could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is sky blue!
There's blue everywhere, but the classrooms are the colour of the sky.
Inside there are teachers and pupils who dream of the clouds that appear there.
Dreams give way to adventures and Super Leonor, who dreams of being a teacher, on a normal day like many others, climbed up into the clouds, climbing a ladder of letters.
In the blue sky she found the pencils we all use to imagine and colour new adventures.
Blue could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is brown!
We all help our teachers, but Rúben is very good at running errands.
One autumn day he went to the teachers' room to pick up a drawing of an acorn.
He has super hearing and heard a noise... Knock. Knock. Knock. He heard it getting louder and louder. It was a brown squirrel!
Rúben had a super idea: to take in all the animals he could find and protect them.
He is an inventor and even wants to be an engineer! He turned the printer into a fantastic machine and printed a house to shelter the animals.
Brown could be the colour of our school, but...
Isn't it better to be grey? Do you know why?
Yesterday we were in the canteen with our super powerful friend Laura.
When we looked ahead we saw a mascot. It was an elephant!
Laura screamed because the mascot was her favourite colour: grey!
She was so happy that she invited him to join us for lunch.
Suddenly, another guest appeared: a grey hippopotamus!
Yesterday we were confused, nervous, scared, amazed and curious. But next to Super Laura we don't need to be afraid.
Grey could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is black!
Because we love Halloween!
On the last one we celebrated, in the kindergarten room, they did a project with charcoal, a blackboard, crow and blackbird feathers.
In a second, Martim, the super powerful boy, appeared and helped finish the project. He added coffee beans and drawings of flies. There was also a nice witch in a black dress, pointed hat, broomstick and striped socks in different colours, making potions with flies and crow and blackbird feathers.
When they finished the project, they went to present it to the other classes.
Black could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is purple!
We have a purple projects room. Purple like the sweet plum in June, the red grape in September or the passion fruit from the island of Madeira.
Although it's very busy, there was a day when it did not even seem like the usual room. It was so quiet that everyone was surprised. The room had never been like this before. Little did they know what was about to happen.
The purple turns into the monster of fear.
And fear is what we began to feel.
Without realising it, we alerted super Lara, who immediately threw buckets of beauty.
That monster did not like beauty because it was ugly and soon disappeared.
The room was once again buzzing with everyone's bright ideas.
Purple could be the colour of our school, but...
Pink, pink, pink! Our school is pink.
Once in the library something unexpected happened: an elephant, a tiger, a panther and lots of flowers came out of a book. All pink.
Out of nowhere, another book opened and out popped butterflies and hearts bursting with love and joy.
The elephant, the tiger, the panther, the flowers, the butterflies and the giant heart formed a huge pink book.
Then Emanuel and Joaquim appeared and, with their special powers, read the book to all the children in the school.
Pink could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is white! No doubt about it!
Once, at lunchtime, there were no spices for the food.
Those who saved our taste buds once again were the boys with special powers:
- Come on! It's almost time for lunch, we have to be quick. - Brayan said.
- Let's go in our cloud car and get the spices to make it quicker. - Alice suggested.
On the way they came across a florist. Her daisies were beautiful. They drove on, picked up the spices and returned to school.
They brought everything on time and we enjoyed marvellous food on tables decorated with vases of daisies.
White could be the colour of our school, but...
Our school is so colourful!
There's even a big rainbow in the room of the superpowered extraordinary children.
In this room there's lots of fun, joy in the air, lots of projects and lots of ideas.
And there's a treasure, very hidden and hard to find, where all the colours you can imagine are.
