"Once upon a time, in a garden full of colorful flowers, there was a little turtle named Tobias. Tobias was a happy turtle, but sometimes, when things didn't go his way, a gray cloud of anger would appear over his head."
In this book, written with love by children from many friendly kindergartens, we will discover together how Tobias learned a magical secret: how to remain calm and transform anger into peace.

We invite you to browse the pages we created and learn, together with Tobias, the Turtle Technique! Let's go on an adventure!"

He lay on his back and started rocking his shell back and forth, looking at the ceiling. His anger was great and he had to let it out. He took many deep breaths and closed his eyes, counting to 10!

Tobias opened his eyes.
Anger was still pounding hard inside his chest.
His friends, the other little animals, were looking at him with surprise.
But little by little, he felt his breathing becoming calmer.
His friend the hedgehog came closer with slow steps and gently touched him with his shell.
“Are you okay?” he asked.

Tobias took another deep breath and nodded his head.
“I was very angry,” he said softly.
The other little animals in the classroom came closer to Tobias.
They wanted to tell him something, they had an idea to help him...

Then the rabbit suddenly jumped up and said, “I have an idea that helps me calm down . I run. Come with me and I’ll show you how.” Tobias followed him without hesitation. The rabbit started running across the meadow, with Tobias close behind. His ears waved in the wind and his feet barely touched the ground. At first, Tobias found it hard to keep up, but the rabbit stopped and shared his secret: “Focus on your breathing,” he said. “Let your thoughts fall behind.” Tobias tried again. This time, the cool air brushed his face, and slowly his body began to relax. When he finally stopped, he was smiling. Tobias had learned something important — everyone has their own way of finding peace.

Tobias returned to the classroom calmer than before. He looked at his drawing, which still had a few drops of water on it, and this time he didn't get angry.
He thought that maybe he could fix it again... or maybe turn it into something different...

Stamou Ioanna, 6th Kindergarten of Egaleo-Greece
Tobias took his paintbrush and began transforming the water spots into little blue clouds and tiny lakes on his paper. His friends gathered around, impressed to see the ruined drawing turn into a brand-new, magical world. Then, the hedgehog suggested that they all join their drawings together to create the largest picture the class had ever seen.

As the children admired their big picture, the classroom felt calm and warm. The teacher smiled and quietly placed something on the table.
It was a simple box.
“I brought this for moments like today,” she said softly.
“This box helps when feelings grow too big.”
Tobias looked at the box with curious eyes.
What could be inside that helps anger slow down?
He leaned a little closer…

The box inside was empty. The animals looked at their teacher with curiosity. She smiled sweetly and told them that this was something they would all make together. The animals didn't understand what she meant. Each one, she told them, has something different that they love and that calms them down.

My animal friends were curious. How did they calm down when they were very angry? Yes, we remembered. We calmed down when we went outside for some fresh air or listened to music. We also felt better when we had a box full of our favorite things.
Maria Louka, Kindergarten Nea Penteli, 3nd Class
Tobias placed his small teddy bear inside the box. The other animals tried it too, each choosing something special. Soon, the classroom became a place where everyone felt safe to calm down and Tobias discovered that even big feelings could become small again with a little help!

Then Tobias went to the backyard and he came across the bunny. She was holding a weather vane. "I heard you were angry," she said to Tobias. "So I brought this weather vane to you in order to help your breathing." "Thank you so much. It is so kind of you." said Tobias.

The next day, Tobias saw the frog by the stream. The frog was very angry. Tobias explained to it how to control its anger, including classifications. He returned home, feeling happy to have helped someone.

The next day, Tobias, the little fox with soft fur and curious eyes, returned to the stream. The sun shone through the leaves, and the water flowed gently, as if it too were in a good mood.
The frog was waiting on a rock, wearing a shy smile. “Tobias,” it said, “I’ve been practicing what you taught me. When I felt angry, I took a deep breath and thought before speaking.”
Tobias wagged his tail happily!

This afternoon, Tobias returned to the forest clearing, where the sunlight filtered softly through the trees. This time, he wasn’t alone. Around him sat a small group of young animals—rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, and even a tiny hedgehog—each one looking up at him with curious eyes.
.Tobias smiled warmly. “Anger, fear, sadness—they’re all part of who we are,” he said gently. “But we can choose what to do with them.”
The little animals listened closely as Tobias explained how to breathe deeply, how to pause before reacting, and how to speak kindly even when upset.

As Tobias was teaching the little animals what anger was, a careless push caused him to stumble and briefly lose his balance. He felt a red, hot flame flare up inside him. He wanted to scream like a strong wind. But Tobias remembered what he had learned. He stopped for a moment, gently closed his eyes and took three slow, deep breaths. Then he counted to five. The anger didn’t go away completely, but it became smaller and calmer. He smiled, helped the little animal to its feet, and continued the lesson peacefully.

One day, Tobias was angry that Bamba the rabbit accidentally bumped into him while running fast. Bamba passed by without noticing and had already disappeared into the forest. Tobias, on the other hand, was slowly advancing in anger, his heart beating rapidly with anger, his face red, smoke coming out of his ears. The Wise Owl in the branches of the tree noticed his situation:
Hey Tobias how are you? he called out.
Tobias was very impressed that someone saw and thought about him at that moment. He tried to explain the anger he was experiencing.

Tobias took a deep breath and smiled. He understood that feeling angry is normal, but he can calm down. He stopped, breathed slowly, and asked for help when he needed it. The little animals learned to stop, breathe, and speak kindly too. From that day on, Tobias remembered that big feelings are okay — we can stop, breathe, and choose kindness. And the forest became a calmer, happier place.
