The Museum Awaits Us was created by the eTwining project partners.

Hello, my name is Muse. I go to kindergarten. I love my school and my friends. While chatting with my groupmates yesterday, one of my friends told me about the museum they visited with their family over the weekend and what they saw. What she told me aroused great curiosity in me. Because I had never been to a museum before.

When I got home that evening, I immediately asked my mother:
"Mom, can we go to the museum one day?"
My mother smiled: "Of course we can, can we even go to a nice museum together this weekend?" she said.
Muse was very excited about going to the museum
that night. As soon as she woke up in the morning,
she immediately put on her clothes and went down
to the kitchen. Her mother was waiting for Muse at
breakfast. They quickly had breakfast and went out to
go to the museum.

The Muse thought and looked at the painting again - now she imagined herself with a crown and the long folds of her dress, standing among the flowers and birds. Soon she and her mother moved on to the next room, where old earthenware was on display, from small cups to huge amphoras. In one corner, a video was shown of how people used to make clay vessels by hand in the olden days, and Muse couldn't take her eyes off the rotating ringing machine. "Mummy, look how the clay turns into a beautiful cup - like magic!" - she whispered. Her mother explained that it took a lot of patience, gentleness and creativity. Muse thought quietly, "Maybe I will learn to make such vessels too - with flowers, starsand secrets inside."

Later, Muse entered another area of the museum. In this area, she could become an artist herself. On one side of the hall stood easels with a large white sheet of paper, and next to them were paints and brushes of various colors. Turning her head, she saw a table with clay. Muse hurried to the easel and began to draw, mixing colors. She felt so happy.

Muse continues her tour of the toy room, admiring old objects such as trains, cars, dolls, animals and spinning tops. Suddenly, she hears a noise and sees a broken clay doll on the floor. Someone touched it and it fell on him. Musa carefully picks it up and takes it to a special room, where archaeologists repair old things. The doll is precious and Musa hopes it will get well again.

As Muse watched the archaeologists carefully glue the doll's pieces together, she felt a strange warmth and relief inside her—as if she were helping an old secret come back to life. The kind man in the white gloves leaned forward and said to her as if he were entrusting her with something precious: "You know... this doll might have been a child's favorite friend, somewhere, sometime. It reminds us that every toy has its own story and that we need to take care of them". Muse smiled and looked around. At the edge of the room, under a low light, she noticed a small glass display case. She approached it and...

Muse excitedly walked towards the statue hall. There were faint marks on the stone floor under her feet, like small claws. The marks wrapped around a large marble statue, then moved towards a dark corner behind. Suddenly she heard a faint rustling sound that broke the silence. She held her breath and slowly approached the corner. There, in the dust, was a slightly open hatch, as if it led to a secret passage. Muse carefully pushed the door open and stepped into the narrow corridor inside.
The corridor was dim, with ancient stone carvings on the walls. The marks on the floor were still visible. Muse continued forward, her heart beating with excitement.
The paw prints on the floor and the sound could have belonged to a dog. Muse moved towards the direction of the sound. This room that she had entered with fear was now exciting for Muse. This sound coming from the corner of the room really belonged to a dog. Muse was no longer excited or scared. When she looked at the dog, a smile appeared on her face. But when she looked at Muse's face, the dog looked scared.
Muse smiled when she saw the dog. She slowly bent down and said, “Hello, little friend.” The dog was a bit scared, but Muse’s gentle voice calmed him.
The dog slowly came closer, wagging his tail. Muse read the name on the tag around his neck: Argon.
Then Muse looked around the room again. But… the golden tiger was gone!
“Where’s the tiger?” she wondered.
Argon looked down, then pushed a small cloth
with his nose. Under the cloth was the golden tiger!
“Did you hide it?” Muse asked in surprise.
Argon gave a shy bark and wagged his tail. He had hidden the tiger to protect it from someone bad!
Muse smiled. “You’re such a smart and brave dog!”
Muse continued to tour the museum while chatting with Argon. Her mother said, “Muse, our museum tour must be over, we must go.” Muse said goodbye to Argon. They left the museum with beautiful memories. Muse was very excited to tell them that they went to school. When she went to school the next day, she told them what she saw in the museum. Their teachers said that they wanted to get together during Museum Week. With the support of their families, a school museum was created.
This children's picture book was created by the lovely little ones from the school team of the eTwining project The Museum is Waiting for Us.
