Hello, I am Blackie! I am a black vulture and I live in forests and rocky mountains. My special home is Dadia forest in Evros, Greece and there is the last colony of my species in the whole Balncans, my home!

The black vulture lays an egg that can be white or brownish, with reddish-brown spots, just like tiny drawings on its shell.
Both mom and dad vultures take turns keeping the egg warm. This caring job is called incubation.

A scavenger (feeding on carrion), large in size (with a wingspan of up to 3 metres) and dark plumage, it inhabits Mediterranean forests and mountainous areas.

The Black Vulture finds shelter, food, and safe nesting places there. This unique forest plays a very important role in the protection and survival of the species.
