In the old, old days people were moaning
and groaning because the sun was
moving really fast.

"We don't have any time to play" moaned
the children. "And we don't get any time
to catch any fish" groaned the fishermen.

"I will go to the sun," ordered Maui.So he
went to the sun,but before he did that he
went to the women and very politely he

said "Could you please gather some flax
and at the crack of dawn plait a rope?"
"Sure,"said the women. So then Maui

asked some tribesmen to try and catch
the sun at dusk.So as the sun went down
the tribesmen went to try and catch the

sun with Maui."Eh,ooh,ah,"they cried as
tried to capture the sun. Eventually they
they got the sun.Maui had a chat to the

sun and the sun agreed to slow down.
When Maui and the tribesmen came
back to the tribe,they were all happy

again.The children could play and the
fishermen could fish again.
