New country, new life...

First day at school!

Feeling so excited...and a bit scared too.

New school, new friends! said the teacher...

Friends? Where are they?

Do friends rip their friend's drawings?....

I wish I could play too!

-Don't play with Sara!

-Yeah, don't play with her!

Mummy, I don't want to go to school. My tummy hurts...

(Or my heart?)

And then Lila arrived, new in class. The teacher said: There should always be a friend for everyone!

Yes! A buddy among bullies!!!

Lila left Damascus, she lives in Europe with mum Najat .. Lila feels lonely and thinks about her schoolmates in Damascus and the Catholic school she attended in Bab Sharki. She was a good student in Syria, her favourite subjects were Arabic and English, her favourite game was playing to be little brides with Ritta and Su'ad after school. Now she doesn't like school and she doens't have any friends to play with.

In a year, Sara and Lila get very close, they even call each-other "sisters". They play like two old mates.. Sara is so happy!!!

YEAH!!! I feel so good with you, Lila!!

Me too, Sara!

But one day Sara invites Lila to do their homework at her home.

They do their homework and then they play in Sara's bedroom.

Lila finds out an old picture and they realize that they were old mates .. LILA IS "THAT GIRL" .. THE ONE WHO ... MADE SARA'S LIFE IMPOSSIBLE.

The two girls find out that they were kindergarten mates in Damascus ..  

THAT'S AWFUL !!!

I can't believe!

You are "that" girl: you are the nasty Lila of "Bab Sharki kindergarten !!??"

Sara, please... I didn't want to hurt you. We were just little girls

I don't want to see you anymore. You made my life impossible. You, bad girl! Go away!!!

THE DAY AFTER .. AT SCHOOL

I am alone again .. and look at Lila, she is joining the bullies .. this means that the nasty girl has never changed..

Sara arrives in her classroom ..

She is silent, sad and a bit scared, too and she doesn't understand the reason why they hate her, she feels excluded .. but she absolutely cannot imagine the terrible trick that her mates are planning for her ..

Sara, why didn't you do your homework? In this school you have to study, we are not at kindergarten anymore..

.. They searched my schoolbag and they even ripped the page of the homework from my notebook .. WHY DO THEY HATE ME?!

I want to get out of here!

Sara keeps silent, her eyes are filling with tears.

During the break, bullies have fun and tease the poor girl.

Sara feels safe just in her bedroom, where she can talk to her only friend .. "her diary"

Finally alone! Oh dear diary, you are my only true friend!

But one day something changes ..

Oh, What a lovely puppy!!! I can call you "Willy", I'll take care of you, we will always be together...

SARA FINDS A NEW FRIEND! :)

Sara takes the hurt dog home.

She gives him a bubble bath, she cuddles with him and a long game begins.

Her life became wonderful! She can handle the teasing because she knows that her dog waits for her at home.

One sunny day, Sara takes her dog Willy for a walk. She is walking next to the school when she sees the bad schoolmates from her class at the playground.

Look! Sara, what a strange dog you have there. He is so ugly!!! hahahahh

One of the boy's heart melts and he wants to play with Willy.

The others start yelling at him and tell him to get away from the dog.

She continues to walk and starts to cry. Then she meets a girl who is also crying on a bench.

Why are you crying?

I lost my dog.

What kind of a dog did you have?

He looks like the dog you are walking now. His name is Loo.

I found this dog on the street last week. He was hurt. I gave him the name of Willy.

That's strange. Because I lost my dog last week.

They realized that Willy is girl's lost dog Loo.

The girl recognizes the dog and Willy started to run towards her. They both have the same bracelet. The girl is grateful to Sara! She asks her to become friends and together take care of Willy Loo :)

Meanwhile...

One day, when Sara is outside, her mum cleans her bedroom and finds Sara's diary. She is curious and she decides to read it...

You are my only friend. I am so sad my mates tease me

Oh my little Sara

When Sara goes home

her mother asks her

What's the matter Sara?

Oh Mummy , I am unhappy, everyday my mates insult me,they tease me . Nobody plays with me . I am so sad. I wonder why?

The following day Sara and her mother go to the headmaster with the diary

The headmaster enters into Sara's classroom

Today I read you the true story of a girl

She is victim of bullies at school, on Facebook and on her mobile phone . She is really sad . Nobody plays with her

Pupils are shocked and upset for that sad story and for that poor girl .

Poor girl. Bullying is so bad

When the headmaster tells them that it is Sara's diary ,those are Sara's feelings , Sara's emotions , Sara's words . They understand and something important happens ....

Lila and the other bullies stand up and feel guilty about their behaviour.

Please, forgive us! Our cruel words and actions hurt you.

Sara forgave her classmates and the headmaster had a brilliant idea.

Let's begin an active campaign against bullying.

The pupils were so motivated that they wrote a song about friendship and positive emotions too.

Since then, the context of the school has completely changed. The pupils are all friends and they show respect for other people.

Be a buddy, don't be a bully!
