It 's autumn.

Είναι Φθινόπωρο.

The leaves have become yellow and they are falling from the trees.

Τα φύλλα έγιναν κίτρινα και πέφτουν από τα δέντρα.

An acorn, named Velanidakis fell on the earth along with the leaves.



Ένα σποράκι με το όνομα Βελανιδάκης έπεσε από το δέντρο μαζί με άλλα πολλά.

Suddenly a strong wind was heavily blowing.

Velanidakis was scared and far away from the oak tree.

Ξαφνικά άρχισε να φυσάει δυνατός άνεμος. Ο Βελανιδάκης φοβήθηκε και βρέθηκε μακριά από τη βελανιδιά.

A little squirrel and two snails found the acorn being cold.

Ένας μικρός σκίουρος και δύο σαλιγκάρια τον βρήκαν  παγωμένο.

-“Don’t be afraid” they said “we are your friends”.

«Μη φοβάσαι» του είπαν. «Εμείς είμαστε φίλοι σου».

Then rain started.



Σε λίγο άρχισε να βρέχει.

Velanidakis started to get wet. Α little turtle passed by and said to Velanidakis: “Don’t be afraid, I am your friend”.



Ο Βελανιδάκης έγινε μούσκεμα. Μια χελωνίτσα πέρασε και του είπε: «Μη φοβάσαι, είμαι φίλη σου»

Then she hides the acorn under her shell, till the rain stopped.

Kι έκρυψε το σποράκι κάτω από το καβούκι μέχρι που η βροχή σταμάτησε.

A little bird passed and once he saw the acorn lying on the earth, he took him in his beak and travelled him through the clouds. 'Don't be afraid, I am your friend" it said to him.

Ένα πουλάκι πέρασε και μόλις είδε τον Βελανιδάκη τον πήρε με το ράμφος του και το ταξίδεψε στα σύννεφα. "Μη φοβάσαι, είμαι φίλος σου" του είπε.

But the acorn fell from his beak and happened to land in a house garden. There Velanidakis grew and became an enormous tree.

Αλλά το σποράκι έπεσε από το ράμφος και έτυχε να προσγειωθεί σε μια αυλή σπιτιού.

Εκεί ο Βελανιδάκης φύτρωσε κι έγινε ένα τεράστιο δέντρο.

Under its shade children are playing, birds are flying. The little squirrel passed under the tree along with the turtle.

Κάτω από τη σκιά του τα παιδιά παίζουν και τα πουλιά πετούν.

Το σκιουράκι πέρασε μαζί με τη χελώνα.

They sat down to rest and said:

'Once I had a friend, named Velanidakis'.

Κάθισαν να ξεκουραστούν και είπαν:

"Κάποτε είχαμε ένα φίλο που τον έλεγαν Βελανιδάκη".
