Es war einmal eine alte Schildkröte, die auf einer Wiese lebte.

Once upon a time there was an old and slow turtle, who lived in a meadow.

Eines Tages, als sie einen langsamen Spaziergang machte, traf sie einen jungen Hasen, der auf einem Weg rauf und runter lief.

One day when she was taking a slow walk, she met a young rabbit walking up and down on the road.

The turtle asked him: "Why are you training so hard?"

The rabbit replied: "So that I will not be as slow as you."

Hase, warum trainierst du so hart?

Damit ich nicht so langsam werde, wie du!

Du brauchst nicht so hart zu trainieren. Sei ein bisschen clever!

Lass uns ein Rennen machen.

Gerne. Morgen um diese Zeit, und wir laden alle Tiere vom Wald ein.

Und so geschah es auch.

Am nächsten Tag versammelten sich alle Tiere am Waldrand.

The turtle then: "You do not need training hard. Instead, you have to be a little wise."

After this statement the rabbit was offended and called to the turtle: "Let's make a race!"

And so it happened. The next day, all the animals gathered at the edge of the forest.

"Good day to all. Today we are here to watch a race between the rabbit and the turtle. Are you ready?" called the lion and gave the start signal.

Guten Tag an alle! Heute sind wir hierher gekommen, um einem Rennen

Als erster startete der Hase und lief ganz schnell davon. Die Schildkröte kam langsam nach.

First the rabbit ran away very fast.

Afterwards the turtle came along very slowly.

Auf halber Strecke und als der Hase sehr weit weg war, dachte er an das Ziel, das Jubeln und wie stolz sein älterer Bruder sein würde. In diesem Moment erschien ein großer Hase und sperrte ihm seinen Weg zu. Es war sein Bruder.

At the half track and when the rabbit was very far away, he thought about the aim, the sheering of the other animals and how proud his older brother will be. In this moment appeared a big rabbit and barred his way. It was his brother.

Was machst du hier?

Schämst du dich nicht? Es ist nicht richtig, sich über andere Tiere lustig zu machen. Nicht alle Tiere sind so schnell wie ein Hase, aber das macht sie nicht zu schlechteren Tieren!

-What are you doing here?

-Shame on you! It's not right to put yourself over the other animals. Not all animals are as fast as a rabbit. But they are not bad animals. They have other properties, they are exactly as important as our skills are.

So hat sich der jüngere Hase bei seinem Bruder entschuldigt und ist

zurück zur Schildkröte gelaufen.

The younger rabbit brother lowers the head. He saw his mistake. He appologized to his brother and ran back to the turtle.

Er hat sich schämend bei ihr entschuldigt und sie liefen zusammen

übers Ziel.

"Excuse me please" he said ashamed. "I was foolish. Come, let's go together. "

Alle Tiere haben über diese Aktion gejubelt. Seitdem sind die

beiden unzertrennlich.

They crossed the line together. All animals cheered and congratulated them warmly. Since then they're inseparable.
