Easter is celebrated every year in spring.
In Croatia we don't go to school on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Monday.
We prepare for Easter. We colour the eggs. Decorate the house. Bake cakes and make food for Easter breakfast.
Children pick grass and make a nest for the Easter Bunny. They put it in a big basket.
Mom or grandma prepares an Easter basket with ham, bread, eggs. On Saturday before Easter they bring the basket to church and the priest blesses the food.

Easter egg is called PISANICA.

Easter Bunny brings presents for children. Chocolate eggs, sweets and toys.

On Easter Sunday everyone goes to mass and after the church the family comes together and they eat Easter breakfast.
Ham, eggs, cottage cheese, spring onions and bread.
The best part of breakfast is Egg knocking. It is a game in which you knock hard boiled eggs and try to break your opponents egg.
On Easter Monday we visit our friends and family to wish them Happy Easter.
