

This book was created during the implementation of the eTwinning project "The food factor" whic is the integral part of Erasmus+ project "Let's hit the road".
It contains recipes of Croatian dishes.

PREŽGANA JUHA
(soup)
INGREDIENTS:
1 dcl of sunflower or vegetable oil
3 big spoon of flour
1,5 l of water
4 eggs
salt, red pepper

PREPARATION:
Pour oil into the deep pot.

Heat the oil, but not too much.
Add the flour and mix constantly.


When flour becomes golden yellow,
add the hot water and let it boil.
Stir the eggs in a small bowl,
add some salt.
Slowly pour eggs into a pot and mix
constaltly.
Leave a few minutes to boil.

PURICA S MLINCIMA
(turkey with pasta)
INGREDIENTS:
40 dkg of smooth flour
4 eggs
2 glass of water
1 teaspon of salt
turkey meat


PREPARATION:
Put salt on the turkay meat and bake it in the oven on 180 degrees for 1,5 hour.
Put flour, water, eggs and salt in a bowl and
knead a dough until it becomes smooth and non-sticky and then roll the dough up to make it thin.



Thin dough cut in a big shapes
and bake it in the oven on 180 degrees
for 5-7 minutes.
Break baked pasta in smaler pieces and put it in
boiling water fot 1-2 minutes until pasta get softer and then take out pasta from water.




Cut the turkey meat in pieces and spice
the pasta with meat gravy.

ŠTRUKLI
(Apple strudles)
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups of smooth flour
cup and half of water
1 spoon of oil
a bit of salt
12 big apples
3 spoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
sour cream

PREPARATION:
Put flour, water, oil and salt ina bowl and
knead a dough until it becomes smooth
and non-sticky. Let it rest for hlf an hour.
Wash, peel off and grate apples.



Add sugar and cinnamon to apples
and then squeeze them to remove liquid.
Roll the dough up to make it thin
and put apples on it.



Cut the dough into rectangular shape and then fold it.
Rinse the oil on the baking sheet and put strudels on it. Coat it with sour cream. Bake it at 180 degrees for about half an hour.



KUKURUZNA ZLEVKA
(Corn cake)
INGREDIENTS:
4 eggs
10 dkg of sugar
20 dkg of corn flour
18 dkg of sharp wheat flour
1 baking powder
2 dcl of milk
2 dcl of sunflower or vegetable oil
jam

PREPARATION:
Put eggs and sugar in the bowl and mix until it becomes foamy. Add milk and oli and continue mixing.
Mix both flours with baking powder and add to
the mixture of eggs, sugar, milk and oil.
Cover the baking sheet with paper and pour the
mixture.



You can add a jam with a spoon before baking
or you can top off the roasted cake with jam.
In the mixture you can add nuts, raisins or grapes.

Bake it in the owen on 200 degrees for about
20 minutes.

FRITULE
INGREDIENTS:
50 dkg of flour
2 dkg of fresh yeast
2 yolks
5 dkg of sugar
5 dkg of butter
2 dcl of milk
one lemon
a pinch of salt
oil for frying
raisins




PREPARATION:
Take some milk, warm it and put in it fresh yeast and little sugar. Let it rise.
Put the yolks in the bowl, add the sugar and mix. Grate the lemon zest, add butter, flour, raised yeast, the rest of milk, a pinch of salt and knead a dough until it
becomes smooth and non-sticky. It must be soft.


Leave the dough for about an hour to rise. If you want you can add raisins.
Pour about half a liter of oil in the deep pot. Heat the oil, but not too much. Lower a spoonful of dough into hot oil, one at a time. Fry on low heat until it becomes light brown.
Remove the fritule from the oil. Let it cool slightly.
You can sprinkle them with powdered sugar or pour chocolate overflow.
