The naughty dolphins

C1 class

It is summer time and in the Aegean a family of dolphins is swimming happily in the clear ,blue sea.Mum dolphin ,Dad dolphin and two little dolphins,Charlie and Marilyn.

Hey, little dolphins! Stay with us! Don't go away. You are too young to swim far from us.

In the sea there are many dangers.

We have to swim together .There are many people ,fishing boats and ships

Hey !Look what a nice cruise ship!Let's follow it.Come quickly.

We can hear music coming from the ship.Let's dance with them.People are waving at us .They love us.

Charlie,can you hear something strange?

I can hear the engines from the fishing boats,Marilyn.

No,I think it's a jet ski.Come on.Let's follow it.

Yes!Let's swim after it.We can overtake it.We have a great time together.Super!

But...it's time to go back.

Yes.But where are the others?Where are we ?Where is Mum and Dad?

I think we are lost !I don't know where we are.I can hear people's voices.They are too close.

Charlie I'm scared.I can't breath and I can't swim.What are we going to do?

We can call for help.Start calling loudly.Someone might hear us.

The little dolphins started calling out loudly. They were somewhere near a beach but they were unable to move back into deep water. They could hear people talking and laughing

Meanwhile,somewhere in the Atlantic, Coralie was at the headquarters of the Fantastic Blue. She was checking the seas all over the world. Suddenly,she heard the dolphins calling for help. She checked the radars and she saw them near a coast in Crete.

She dived into the sea and she transformed into a beautiful mermaid. She swam towards Crete.

At the same time Braiden was on holidays in Crete. When he got the message from Corallie, he took the Fantastic Blue's vehicle and drove to the beach to save the dolphins.

As soon as he got there ,he saw a lot of people trying to save the dolphins.They didn't know what to do. Braiden told them to catch the dolphins gently and pour water over them.

They pushed the dolphins back into the sea safely with the help of the people.

Don't be afraid.We will help you.Stay calm!

As Corallie was swimming towards Crete she found Misty and Ydor, Maximo and Jennifer,Bubbledrop and Shelly, Droper, SpongeBob, Aqualight and Aquaknight. Together they reached the beach to pull the dolphins back into the sea and help them swim again

Our heroes pulled the little dolphins into the sea and they helped them swim again.

Do you remember where is your family?

Yes!They are following a cruise ship.

I think I have seen it. It's not very far. Come quickly.

The dolphins found their family not far from Crete. They were all very worried. They thanked the Fantastic Blue and they continued to follow the cruise ship racing alongside and leaping into the air!

Few things in nature are more tragic than the sight of a pod of whales lying helpless and dying on the beach. Mass whale strandings occur in many parts of the world but we don't know why. Scientists are searching for the answer that will unlock the mystery. There are many theories about why whales and dolphins sometimes swim into shallow waters and end up stranding themselves on beaches all over the world. One of them is that something disrupts the whales' navigation system,causing them to lose their bearings,stray into shallow water and end up on the beach.

It was a very hot and dry afternoon in Zakynthos. Braiden with his friends were going for a walk at the beach.

Braiden, look.Some tourists are at the beach down there1

What are they doing there?

They are opening their umbrellas and they are sunbathing.

Little children are making sand castles.They are playing beach volley,too.

But they can't swim on that beach. Turtles have laid their eggs there. Everybody knows it.

Quickly! Let's go there.

Braiden and his friends hurried to the beach.

We must help little turtles. We must take action and tell those people to leave from the beach.

But what can we do?

Let's call Corallie.Braiden, press the button on your magic watch.

Braiden went closer to the people at the beach.

What are you doing here? Don't you know that turtles lay their eggs here?

No,we didn't know that.We are very sorry. What can we do now?

Tourists left from the beach quickly and quietly.

Take everything from the sand. But be very careful.

O.K.We will pack our things. We will go to another beach.

Be quiet! I hear something strange.

Oh! No! The little turtles are breaking the shells of the eggs.

Hurry!Let's go to the nearest bar and tell them to turn off the music and the lights.We shouldn't scare the turtles .They have to find their way to the sea safely.

The baby turtles were breaking the shells. As soon as they were out of the eggs hundreds of turtles started running to the sea.. High above the sky seagulls were flying ready to catch them. Many of the babies lost their way and went back to the land.

Corallie and Shelly were already in the sea. They were shouting to the baby turtles.

Come quickly!Get into the sea and swim.

Corallie and Shelly helped all the turtles get into the sea and swim along with other fish. They took them into a place to grow up safely.

You are safe here!Be careful of the big fish,the crabs and the fishermen.Sometimes people throw plastic in the sea Don't eat it.We will meet again soon

They were all very happy. People promised to help not only the turtles but all the animals that live in the sea.They also promised not to throw plastic into the sea and try to keep it clean.

The Caretta caretta sea turtle is a type of a turtle that lives in the sea.The loggerhead sea turtle is found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as the Mediterranean Sea.Most of the beaches where they lay eggs are found on the coasts of Greece. Baby turtles come out of the eggs at night, so that other animals like crabs or seagulls do not eat them. They follow the morning light to the sea. They swim to parts of the sea that have sea weed to hide from other animals while they grow.

A LAKE IN DANGER

6TH GRADE

PRIMARY SCHOOL OF GALATISTA

There is a small beautiful village in Halkidiki.Not far from the village there is a lake.In this lake live trouts,ducks and many others creatures.All around the lake you can see tall trees that form a small forest.In this forest big and small animals have their nests and find food and water.

But during the last months the lake is in great danger.It hasn't rained for a long time and the water isn't enough for the animals and for the people who use it because farmers around the lake use the water to irrigate their corps.

Because of the drought the villagers informed the local media and told everyone that the lake is in danger.

There is still life in the lake.

Help us.

Our lake is in danger!

Our two friends Maximo and Jennifer are on a Greek island. They both love environment and as soon as they heard the news from the lake they decided to help with their super magic powers.

Maximo there is a problem somewhere in Greece. Look at my necklace. It is red!

They came to the village very quickly. The villagers were at the square discussing their problem when they saw Jennifer and Maximo.

AFTER A WHILE.....

He looked up at the sky and suddenly drops of rain fell on his face. The rain hadn't stopped for two days. The lake was full with water again. Fish were swimming and all the animals came back.

Now the water is back to the lake.But what are we going to do with the farmers? They want to water their land and sometimes they use too much water for irrigation.

What do you think if we drill and find water? Farmers will not take water from the lake again.

Yes, great idea. We can use the buttons of our belt so that we drill fast. Then we can use pipelines to bring water to the farms.

Yes, let's do it!

Maximo and Jennifer found a solution to this problem,too but the lake was still full of rubbish and plastic.

I think we can use the magnets again. I can attract all the rubbish from the lake.

Ok Maximo.

But people should learn to keep the environment clean. They should respect it and not destroy it.

You are right Jennifer. Water pollution is a great problem because water is the source of life and it is precious for our planet.

How are we going to inform people?

Let's gather them all here. We can all make signs and posters about the environment and its protection.

We can also hand in leaflets and brochures to all the people. We can go all over the world.

We will protect the lake

Our two friends are traveling all around the world to protect our blue planet using their magic powers and their special skills. They hand in leaflets and brochures and they try to explain to everyone why it is so important to protect the planet and keep it"BLUE AND GREEN"

More than 80% of waste water resulting from human activities is discharged into rivers or sea without any pollution removal.

App.70% of all water abstracted from rivers, lakes and aquifers is used for irrigation.

Lake Koroneia in Greece was among the lakes with the biggest fish production. It's area was 45 km with a depth of about five metres. Since then it has shrunk to about one third of its original area and its depth has decreased to less than a meter. The lake suffers from pollution and intensive agriculture.

Hi there friends,

I'm Bubbledrop!

And I'm SHELLy. On our island, we are in constant need of water...

...because all the rain water ends up in the sea...

That's why, there is a dam, the Vaketa Dam, on our island...to collect rain water and for ducks to swim in...

The water from the dam is used in many ways. It is used for irrigation, to water the nearby land.

It is also used for human consumption, that is, it ends up through the pipes to the public water network.

The water is very important for us...Not a single drop of rain water should end up in the sea.

That's why, small dams like this one are built everywhere on the island to collect as much rain water as possible.

We love the rain, and we need it!

We must create sustainable communities.

We need to be self-sufficient and take care of ourselves and the planet.

Hi there people, please remember to take showers, not baths.

A lot of water goes to waste when we take baths and it's not right.

A good idea is to collect rain water with buckets and then water our plants.

Hi friends, don't forget to fix your dripping taps. Every drop is important....

Hi friend, what are you doing? Watering your plants with a hose? No, no, no....use a bucket instead!

Every time you use the washing machine, make sure it's full of dirty clothes.

Please remember, don't use single use plastic bottles.

If it's absolutely necessary, remember not to leave it in the sun. It's dangerous.
