Special Museums(Özel Müzeler):
These are museums that contain works put together by individuals or organizations on various topics.
For example; Rahmi Koç Museum: The chain and the anchor at the end of the Ottomans to fix the ship were called Lenger, and the place where they were made was called Lengerhane. The history of the Rahmi Koç Museum begins with the acquisition and conversion of this Lengerhane to the museum. Work began for the museum in 1991 and the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, located in the Hasköy district of Haliç, was opened to visitors in 1994.
After a short time, the ruined Hasköy Shipyard, just across Lengerhane, was bought because the exhibition areas were not sufficient for the collection of the Rahmi M. Koç Museum. Hasköy Shipyard was established in 1861 by the Company-i Hayriye for the maintenance and repair of its own ships. The shipyard, whose restoration was completed in 2001, joined the museum.
There are different sections in the Museum such as Atatürk collection, model toys, living history, transportation, machines, communication, scientific instruments.
