The journey of the plastic bag

(Instructions: We’ll give the title of the story at the end., How will we continue the story? : A fish ate the plastic bag, after that it was ill and it came out of the sea because it could not breathe. Two children who went for a walk at the beach found the fish and they took it and they went to veterinary. The doctor found the plastic bag in its stomach, he tried to make well the fish. The children were very sad and they decided to do something to rescue the environment )
Class: St’3, 54o Primary School Piraeus
-Gouh! What an awful smell! How were I been here? I didn't understand. So much trash! Where will all this go? Bottles, plastic cups, paper ... all mixed up. People are very wasteful. Oh! Don’t push me. You annoy me and your smell is awful! said the red plastic bag to a plastic bottle which was next to her. You are disgusting!

-No, I’m not. Don’t you see that I’m a plastic beautiful bottle. I had milk for the kids. Now I’m here in the dumpster. How about you?
-Don’t you see that I am so beautiful, so beautiful, red, petrochemical, fragrant! People used me and threw me in here with all this trash. Maybe, someone can help me, but who? Help! Help! Does anyone hear me? I hear a noise! Oh! The air! Thanks god!
The air scattered the trash in the environment. The red plastic bag was flying free in the sky. It was so happy.
-I’m free, I’m flying in the air! I can see everything from here! said the red plastic bag.
But suddenly the air stopped and the red plastic bag felt into the sea.

But, the wind is very strong and the red plastic bag escaped of the hands of students and falls into the sea. It is found by a whale that thinks it is a school of krill and swallows it all at once.

The whale feels sick and on his travels along the Antarctic coast he is sighted by a Portuguese scientist, José Xavier, who studies penguins, squids, birds, and fish in Antarctica with his team (this scientist, José Seco and José Queirós have already been to Polar Week at our school to tell us about their research).

As if by a miracle the scientist sees the whale “spitting” the red bag.

As the red bag sprang out of the whale's mouth, it fell in front of the scientist. It was still intact. It harmed nature and creatures, but nothing happened to the red bag. The scientist should now do something for plastic waste like this. He took the red plastic bag and went to the lab. Was anything going to change for our Earth now?
The scientist José Xavier was also teaching in the University and doing a research with his team of students. They decided to design a project for the environmental awareness of the children.

3rd Primary School of Maroussi of Attica Greece
They organized a campaign and involved the Schools from many countries around the world. They made presentations and received successful results. The pupils could not hide their enthusiasm! They learned more about the damage that a "small plastic bag" can cause to nature and creatures. The problem appears like a chained reaction that destroys finally the entire planet Earth!

The climate change is visible already now days. The participating Schools received and accepted a challenge invitation by the scientific team. They joined forces in order to work and act through education against the future distraction!

The pupils from the 3rd Primary School of Maroussi of Attica Greece participated in this project! All the chlildren became very active and created posters for the promotion of environmental messages. Together with other Schools and through collaboracion, the pupils exchanged knowledge and experience. "Reuse materials, reduce garbage and recycle", "Act now for the future of our Planet -our home!" were the most important and popular slogans.

Hopefully the future seems to become better because people learn more and the young future active citizens are motivated. People can change the world. Yes, it is possible! It depends on the way we act!! So let's do our best working all together as one!!!
The students of 32nd Primary school of Piraeus decided to inform the whole world by making songs and drawings for recycling. So our whole city would learn to manage garbage properly.
Never plastic in our seas!
Fish and all marine organisms are endangered !!

TITLE:The sea belongs to fishes.
I look at the sky at night
I'm looking to find another planet like him
We dream at night sea and beach
always be clear
like the all-white fabric
Mountain plants and forests
make the world so amazing.
Small and large animals
they all love caresses waiting
for you to touch them
and food to give them
But the seas are polluted
by the garbage they throw away
and fish suffer
when they eat the plastic.
And forests when they burn
to build houses
the animals are crying all the time
who do not have homes anymore.
But the stars do not shine
black clouds fill
the atmosphere is cloudy
and nature get ill.
Attention young and old people
our planet is ill. from the students of 32nd Primary school of Piraeus
