Larry was born in Emporia Kansas January 2, 1945. His Grandpa passed away two days after he was born.

2
Larry's full name is, Larry Wayne Quinn. He was named after his grandpas uncle and he was given Wayne because his parents didn't want a Jr.

3
He grew up in strong city in a tiny 2 bedroom house, with no garage. He had to sleep out on the back porch to make room for his sisters. When it was cold outside, he would warm up papers from a catalog by the stove in the living room and put them on his bed to sleep on.
4
His first, most vivid memory was going to the hospital with his sister and getting his tonsils removed. He was 3 years old at the time and he remembers going out for ice cream afterwards.
He also remembers a flood that hit when he was 6 years old, in 1951. He watched as the water poured into the streets and crept closer to his home. His family stayed with the Bowman's, who lived up on a hill. He stood there watching his toys float away down the streets. He was sad that he couldn't save his goldfish from the flood. When they were able to come home, he found his goldfish swimming in the bath tub waiting for him to return.

5
His parents had a great marriage. They celebrated 45 years together before his mother passed away in 1986.

6
Larry was the only boy out of three sisters. Karen being the oldest, then Larry, Teresa, and the youngest Donna.

7
As a child he spent most of his time outside with his friends stirring up trouble. They did all sorts of things like riding bikes, swimming in the river, fishing, or even playing a game they made up themselves like kick the can. He also mowed lawns when he could and he would deliver milk off the milk truck, or deliver paper. His favorite toy was his bike that he got for Christmas one year while most of his other toys were washed away by the flood.

8
His family moved to Herington in 1959. Growing up in a small town meant everybody looked out for everybody. You wouldn't be able to act up anywhere without someone correcting you are tattling on you to your mother. Herington was a small town and you didn't get away with much. The street lights were a way of telling it was probably time to get home, and all the kids in town used it as a clock.

9
One family vacation they took together was a trip to Missouri. They stayed out at the lake with some family friends in a cabin the had rented for a few days. While on the road, they used their imagination and skills to use the car to its fullest ability. Tieing bags of water to the bumper so it would cool off against the air, and using ice as an AC unit.

10
As a teen, he had a lot of friends and together they would stir up all kinds of trouble. They would have gallons of water and would throw them at passing cars. On Halloween, they would take roman candles and shoot them off. As a job, he worked in the drug store, keeping the store clean, filing prescription drawers, and making drinks and malts.
11
Larry learned how to drive in the hay fields around 7-8 years old. He would be hauling hay and steering the truck strait down the fields, needing assistance on turning it around the other way. His first car was a 1954 Ford Victoria. He had to trade his scooter for it.

12
His main dream after highschool was to go into the air force and retire out of it. He decided to enter it with a friend. They joined together through base training but eventually went their separate ways. He still has friends to this day that he has met in the air force.

13
Larry met Judith in high school and they went on two dates throughout their whole high school career. After going into the air force, he got a call from his mom who worked with Judy at the bank. She said that if he didn't come down and marry her soon then she'd run off with someone else. He decided he didn't want her marrying some one else so he proposed through a letter that was later followed up with a call.

14
He came home for the wedding on leave. He left early because there was nothing for him to do on base but as soon as he left, he was called to Vietnam. His roommate ended up taking his place while he went and got hitched. His best man, Jim Newl, was killed in a car wreck a few days before the wedding. He had to find a last minute best man. After the wedding he was stationed up in Puerto Rico. Larry and Judith had a 2 year honeymoon there.
