her father was from Czechoslovakia moved to germany and settled in Wilson ks where ina was then born.

As a young child her best friends were the Durall sisters. Her brother and sisters would go to their grandparents house one a week to spend the day with them. The days her and her friends hang they always raced bareback on their horses through the pastures that seperates their houses.

Ina met her husband at a young age. Her cousins wanted Ina to meet this man named Reuben. They all met up at a school basket ball game. Since that night they were hitched and got married months later in July after meeting in January.

growing up ina could only remember that during the depression her mother would make their underwear from flour sacks and their dresses and blouses were made from fees sacks.

Her dream was to become a nurse to help people who were sick. Even though her first job was babysitting she actaully ended up becoming a nurse in Russel, KS.

After nursing her and her husband had 4 children together. Their names were Leroy, Leslie, Anel and Faith.

Her husband rueben was to be sent to war in 2 days when he was drafted but by luck he was stopped when the State senate of ks wanted him to stay and run a business for him because he was a good welder.

When her husband stayed in states one of his best friends went to war. During that war in the Battle of the buldge his best friend and another friend were in field and his bestfriends friend got shot next to him. Nothing more effected ina than this event seeing her husband hurt for his loss.

She never attended college but while a nurse in different hospitals she took many instructional classes and learned a lot from them.

To this day she cant help but remember the days she spent going to her grandparents house on snowy days and taking the horse and sled to go to their house to eat their favorite jello dessert.

she knows that when she was younger she wasn't as self assured as she is now and that was her biggest struggle growing up.

Ina has 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. All make her very happy.

In her spare time she enjoys to read her favorite book, the bible.

Ina's husband died in 2013 10 days away from his 90th birthday. Rueben was her first love, first marriage and everything in between. This year would of been 67 years of marriage.
