Carol was born on October 13th, 1954 in Solomon, Kansas. Her mother went into labor during the fights on TV and refused to go to the hospital until the fights were over.

2
Almost as soon as her mother Gloria arrived at the hospital at the end of the fights she went into labor and Carol was born. Gloria and Carol spent about a week in the hospital and then headed home.

3
The first home that Carol ever lived in was in the country just South of Solomon. Her first job was working on the farm which she started doing when she was about 13 years old. When Union 76 opened up in town she started working there as a waitress which she calls her first official job.

4
Throughout her childhood she had several different pets. When asked if she had any pets when she was younger, she responded, "Oh goodness yes." Carol had about 15 cats and 4 dogs in the span of living at home with her parents. She also had calves as pets on the farm.

5
Carol spent most of her time when she was younger at home with her family or sometimes with her friends. Often though she would be working on the farm and would be around her parents. She says that her parents are her heroes/role models because they were hardworking and honest people.

6
Her first car was a Simka, she called the car a p.o.s. The car was only $25(?) and it was about the size of a VW. Carol's brother rebuilt the car and she drove it for about a year before she got a new car.

7
Some of Carol's favorite things to do were go to the skating rink or cruise down Santa Fe with her friends. She was a big fan of the birthday parties that her family had because everyone got together and had huge parties. Her aunt used to make character cakes for everyone's birthdays.

8
When she was in high school she was an A/B, making good grades every year. At this time they were wearing bell bottoms, mini skirts, hip huggers, and gogo boots. The only lingo she remembers is saying "cool" all the time.

9
Carol was in grade two or three when Kennedy was assassinated and she remembers that they had announced it over the speakers in her school. She hated the Vietnam war, mostly because there were so many innocent people dying. To this day she still has a bracelet that was raising awareness of a boy who was M.I.A. in the Vietnam war. When 9/11 happened she was working at the Eisenhower center in Abilene and one of the office clerks went in to tell her what had happened and at first she was shocked and didn't quite understand what was happening and then was even more shocked when she realized what had happened and what that meant
10
As a parent her proudest moment came when her second oldest son Andrew was 18 and he saw a funeral progression of a man that they knew. When he saw the cars passing he immediately pulled over, got out of his car, and took his hat off. Later in the paper he was mentioned by one of the family members who saw him taking off his hat for this man.

11
For many years of her later adult life Carol worked at the Eisenhower center where many political figures would come and visit and meet everyone who worked there. Carol got to meet Presidents Reagan and Bush as well as Vice President Quayle.

12
Carol said that was blessed in that she never had to face any true devastation in her lifetime. However, the scariest moment of her life was when she got a call that her oldest son Matt had been in a car accident. She had been told that he was completely fine, but that didn't stop her from worrying about his safety. (James)

13
As a parent, Carol says she was a pushover. Her husband Gary was the one who did all the punishing when the time came. Carol did however, obtain a wooden spoon because when she used her hand to spank her kids it wasn't hard enough to make them even feel anything.

14
Carol has always been a lady who loved nothing more than to be at home with her family. She would rather stay at home than travel. Reading and spending time with family are two of her favorite things to do now that she's retired.

15
Even though Carol retired a couple of years ago she found retirement very boring and so she got a job working for her nephew. She helps book keep and is actually very good at her job. She gets to spend her Fridays off of work and babysitting her youngest granddaughter Jensen.

16
Carol has been on this planet for 61 years and she has learned plenty of life lessons. These include honesty, integrity, fairness, and compassion. She also has learned "how to keep your mouth shut" also known as knowing when to keep information to yourself.
17
This woman who has done so much for other people and not asked for much in return ever is very gracious. She says that she doesn't have one moment in her life that she is proudest of. Carol is however, extremely proud of her kids and how far they've come with their lives.
18
Carol is completely content with how her life has gone so far. She's enjoyed her life the way it's been lived and doesn't have any regrets. She got her education and never was without a job. Carol is just very happy with her life as long as she gets to spend it with her family by her side.
19
With as many life lessons as she's learned she has a lot to say in advice for teens of today. Carol wants teens to know to work hard and always stay honest. Always go for what you want and work to get it. She says to not judge others until you've been in their shoes and know their situation. Lastly, know that money isn't everything.
