Me has been working for hours without a break. I so tired. I work all day every day of week. I don't get any water or food. Me just work mining coal in the coal mine. There are other kids like me working here. Last week there was a little girl who worked really hard and did everything that people forgot to do and she was so tired she fell asleep near a machine and it took her completely whole. My back is so tired of me hunched over working all day in the same position that my back and hands are starting to deform. My body is getting used to the no breaks and my body is shaping to what position me is always in. I am hurt, tired, and overworked please help us!

When me and Callie woke up this morning Callie knew she had to go to school tonight. I went straight to work and stayed there until sun rise. When you see where I work you are surprised. There are so many bugs and body parts everywhere. It is not clean at all. You would think that someone would clean up but you’re wrong. If we want it to be clean we have to clean it. Where there is an accident and there is blood everywhere then the rats come out and search for the source.

Yesterday, I was walking in the mine and someone was crushed under the coal when it came down and the rats came out because they smelled something. As we mined we were kicking them and stepping on them. Even when you kill them there are always more. We tell people what is happening down there and no one cares or listens they just continue on with their work. The only person who listens is our mother because she is sick so when we get home we tell her everything and she just sits in bed tired and sickly. Even if she doesn’t care she has nothing else to do than sit quietly and listen. I wish someone would listen and Help us! - Oscar
