Greennie is the good hero of the project 'Green Missions', an eTwinning project.

He travels to all the partner countries and meets the pupils trying to make them understand how important the environment is and that they should become active and 'green'!

Meet Greenie!

Greenie’s motherland is Latvia and one of the most beautiful and greenest towns - Daugavpils. Greenie’s best friends are trees, plants, birds, animals and fish. Greenie understands their language, he hears every single voice asking for help. Every morning he gets up with a thought: “What else can I do for the environment today?” Greenie likes fruit and vegetables. He likes sport as well. He is active and fit.

Greennie loves living in Latvia. The people there are aware of environmental problems. Greennie is glad that the Latvian pupils take care of our planet. But what about the other partner countries? Greennie is going to find out ... so he leaves Daugavpils and goes to Poland with some nice presents for the Polish pupils.

And here he is ... with the Polish pupils who enjoy his visit very much!

When they walk him around the town, Greennie discovers that green is everywhere! He feels at home there. He has a smile on his face when he sees so many recycling bins in Zambrów.

The Polish kids love animals and plants. That makes Greennie happy!

And they know how to help

the environment!

Greennie meets a lot of friendly people in Poland. One of them is Lucie who is his best friend now. They share the same interests. Greennie enjoys talking with Lucie! He wonders if it is love... heart glasses

When he arrived in Zambrów, Greennie also had a chance to get to know Muddler, just before her journey to Latvia. Muddler is a bit strange. They don't have common interests but luckily they get on quite well with each other. Greennie thinks his Latvian friends will be surprised at Muddler's behaviour during her visit to Daugavpils! He can't wait to hear from them :-).

Greennie is sad today as he has to say goodbye to his Polish friends. He can't hide his sadness when he says a tearful goodbye to Lucie.

I am very happy today! I am in Patra, Greece. The children are very happy to see me! They take photos with me and the gifts I bring them!

At this school, I meet Mess! Mess is very beautiful but a little strange! She only cares about her looks! Mess is Muddler's good friend!!! I must talk to her about the environment!

The children take me around the school and they take photos with me. They are fantastic days! I do English, Drama, P.E., Language, Maths and History. Mess is always with me!

The children of D2 class take me to the back yard where there is a compost bin!!! I am very happy about it! In the classrooms there are lots of recycling bags, too! That's a 'green' school! Well done!

Please, Mess, don't litter the school! Recycle!

Today, we are going on a school trip to a milk factory and to a big bakery. Here we are drinking chocolate milk and we are watching how they make bread! Milk and bread are very healthy and tasty!

I am very happy and excited to have arrived safely in Wales. I am looking forward to spending time with Year 4 at Ysgol y Gwernant.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my week at Ysgol y Gwernant, it has been great to learn some eco tips.

To save electricity, I had to switch off the lights when I left the classroom.

To understand why water is the only drink we're allowed at school, Year 4 showed me a wall displaying the amount of sugar in drinks.

I have been given my own water bottle. It's very important to drink water, but I also had to make sure that taps were off to save water.

Here I am eating a healthy fruit snack during morning break. Delicious!

Here I am learning why drinking water is better for me. It doesn't contain any sugar!

To save water I was taught that I must turn off the tap!

Hello again, my dear friends! It has been a very busy year for me! I have seen so many new countries and schools, made new friends, tried a lot of new things. But I have missed my homeland so much!

I am back to Latvia!

School is over, we can play the whole day together, swim and sunbathe!
