New York December 31, 11:58pm, everyone was waiting for the New Year celebration. Suddenly a loud noise was heard from Beyond Hotel. Everyone was shocked for a second. Everyone ran towards the Hotel.
Some people who were trying to find exactly where the sound came from heard a man shouting. Running they entered a room where they found a person standing next to a man who was lying on the floor.

They took him to the hospital, but it was too late, he was already dead. After hearing this strange event, a man in a black suit and a hat got up from his chair with a puzzled look on his face. He was a famous detective in New York, detective John Miller.
John jumped on his car and went to the hospital as fast as the wind itself. As soon as he arrived at the hospital, he started to interrogate the people who were there. First, he asked a few questions to the ones that had heard the noise. Then, he asked a few more questions to the ones who discovered the body. They all said that they had heard a scream and ran to where it came from. When they entered the room, they saw one guy on the floor with blood coming out of his ears and a waiter standing next to him.
The doctors said that the victim had died from
a head trauma. After hearing this, John interrogated Bill Kent, a waiter. He was a tall skinny man, whose red hair highlighted his tiny pale face from his brown uniform. He was very clumsy and shy, but John managed to get information from him. Bill said that he had seen Ralf Carrick, the man who was murdered, fighting with someone. Ralf struggled with the guy but he was hit on the head with an iron pipe.

With this information Detective Miller decided to return to the crime scene. He started to search the place very carefully. He found nothing but an iron pipe. He sent it to the forensics, so that they could examine the fingerprints. Wendy Carrick, Ralf’s wife, accused Bill of murdering his husband. She said that the only one that was at the hotel that night was Bill Kent.

Two days had passed since Ralf Carrick was murdered, and Detective John Miller went to the forensics. He got there and found out that the iron pipe and the fingerprint proof had been stolen. The only evidence from the crime had been stolen. “What am I supposed to do now?” John wondered, “I should check nearby places and try to find something, no matter what,” he said. He looked around the building and found a badge, which was hanging in a fence. He picked it up and looked at it. Unfortunately, it was broken. The only thing that John could read was “My name is B”
