Chalcolithic Age BC a HİSTORİCAL JOURNEY FROM 5000-3000 to 1153......
We have done a research about
the historical buildings in Kars,
our beautiful city,
which dates back to very ancient times.
We wanted to examine the geometry of the historical monuments in our country. For this, we chose Kars, which is located in the east of Turkey. Because this city is home to many civilizations and is not very recognized.
Four of the historical artifacts that we will define are located in the city center of Kars, two of them are located in the ruins of Ani, 42 km away from Kars
Hello I am Ayşenur Yücel I will give you general information about the Ani Ruins.
"City of the World", "1001 Church", "House of Civilizations" and "40-Door City" is called. The first settlement dates back to 3,000 BC and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Since its establishment, it has hosted 23 civilizations. Ani is also the first gateway from Anatolia to Anatolia.
Our first route Ani Ruins. As seen on the map, there are many works in the region.
Located 42 km away from Kars, the ancient city of Ani, located in the Ocaklı Village, is a real historical treasure. It lies on "SILK ROAD", the most important trade route in the world, extending from China to Venice for 6400 km.

If you don't know their story, you might think that this is just a bunch of rundown buildings on an empty hillside. Ani, which has been home to many civilizations throughout history, carries the examples of Georgian and Seljuk architecture along with examples of Armenian architecture. The fact that the city was built on the Silk Road is one of the richest cities of its time.
The first mosque in Anatolia:
Ebu'l Menuçehr Mosque
The building has a rectangular plan. (18.5 x 15.7 m.) Two-storey mosque on the ceiling of the Seljuk period star motifs are available. The octagonal minaret is reached with a 99-step ladder. It is fitted on a square base.
Sultan Alparslan, who conquered Ani in 1064, left the administration of the city to Manuchehr, the son of Abu Bakr al-'Ad şehr al-Assad. Manuçehr also made the city. It is the oldest Seljuk work known to date and survived until today. After the conquest of the city of Ani by the Seljuks, it was built in 1072 by Ebû'l Menuçehr Bey. The mosque is the first Turkish mosque in Anatolia.

The domed rectangular design resembles the Cathedral from the outside. The walls are built with red, black and brownish smooth cut stones. The inner structure is similar to the late period churches of the Middle Ages. The dome is over the middle chamber and tapered (conic). There are carvings on the arches depicting animals that appear among the vines.
