This book is dedicated to our fruitful collaboration during our project "Make Cultural Heritage Part of Our Future" during the school year 2018-2019.
Furthermore, is dedicated to our wonderful pupils, their ideas, imagination and hard work that bring to life these wonderful books.

Once upon a time, a long long long time later, in 2237, Aphrodite is at her home at Athienou village, in Cyprus, on planet Earth. She lives there with her family. Today, she has a teleconference with her friends, her classmates from Greece (Athens, Naxos and Meteora), Italy, Spain, Portugal and Polland.
Her e School is a multicultural school, like the most schools of Earth, and they have pupils around the world. Schools apply e learning and face-to-face learning some days a year. Last year, they have face-to-face lessons in Portugal. This year, face-to-face lessons will take place in Athens. Her classmates have different
age. Each pupil attends a class according to his/her knowledge and his/her skills.
During the teleconference, the pupils will discuss the problems they face. All children face the same problems. They are worried about their lost culture. They feel very disappointed because they have lost their customs, their traditional foods, their traditional games, their traditional music and dances, all their cultural heritage. Their mother tongues have been very poor. Archaeological sites have been destroyed since no one is interested in preserving them. Even the environment suffers.
Reasons led to the destruction are mostly socioeconomic. The development of technology was one of the main reasons. People spend a lot of time with technology and they are less interested in culture. They use technology for all their activities, for work, for entertainment, for everything. But the main reason is globalization. People easily change country, travel frequently, forget their own habits, traditions and culture. Wars ruined also cultural heritage.
During the meeting all pupils have made suggestions to find a solution. Aphrodite have suggested to use the time machine to
solve this huge problem. Time machine will help them to learn about their cultural heritage and then they will collaborate to find solutions. The time capsule has not been used for several years and needs repair. They will help each other and will share their knowledge and skills to manage solve this problem. Fortunately, two of the pupils will be 16 years old in few weeks and will be able to drive it. The pupils have to plan the whole journey and also should find an excuse to leave home for such a long period.
Aphrodite at the coast of cape Greko
by Pantelina, Mariam, George Ch. and Rozalia

Pantelina, Mariam, George and Rozalia, please tell me about this unique place!
Well, dear Aphrodite, Cape Greco is cape and also a small peninsula in the southeast of Cyprus, in Famagusta, between Ayia Napa and Paralimni. The area is designated as a national forest park, which is part of the Natura 2000 program, and covers an area of 384.9 hectares.
According to the findings of the excavations that took place in 1992, this site is considered to be one of the most ancient settlements on the island. In 2007, an ancient wreck of the 2nd century AD was discovered and investigated by divers in the marine area of Cape Greco. The Cape has a lighthouse built by the British and is the second one built in Cyprus after the castle of Pafos.

What a unique beautiful natural environment!!!

Aphrodite is helping to classify mollusks on bivalves and backyards.

The Flora and Fauna:
Cavo Greco is an important station for migratory birds and there are 71 species of fauna. The flora of the area consists mainly of bushes.
Across the area of Akrotiri thrive one-year and perennial plants, bulbs, tubers, varieties of colchicum, narcissus and other plants. Unique are also the plants on the beach and mainly the species that bloom in the summer and thrive there despite the saltiness of the soil, the drought and the high summer temperatures.

Unfortunately, we must get into the time machine and return back to our school.
Together, during our journey, we learn a lot about our cultural heritage and now we aim to introduce it to everyone of our society and to our countries' visitors so that we keep it alive and protect it.
We will undertake our role seriously and actively to uphold and revive our precious European cultural heritage.
