Hi everybody! I will show you some images from the great depression and today's times. How are they the same and different ?
You get to know on the next pages.

First of all, we need to know what is the great depression is. The great depression happened on the August of the 1929. When, the stock market crashed! During that time, people were jobless and homeless! Soup kitchens severed people food and they had to stay in a shanty towns called: Hoovervilles!

This is a photograph of a little girl eating food from a soup kitchen. There is an apple, a loaf of bread and soup that she is going to eating. It looks like that she is wishing that she will not eat from it again.

This is a photograph of a food bank giving out people food by equal amounts. I chose this picture because this has a connection between the great depression’s soup kitchens and today’s food banks.

This is a photograph of the dust storm that occurred in the rural states. This was unexpected from the greedy farmers. And it was something they would never imagined. The dust is a lot and it’s the color black. If I were in this storm, it would be terrifying.

This is a photograph of the unexpected Texas snow storm of today time’s. This has a connection from the dust bowl because the both events happened in unexpected times. The people were unprepared and not ready for the dust storm and same for the snow in Texas. It was unusual in the south.
I hoped you understood and enjoyed my book! I like making connection between these hard time's right now and hard time's in the great depression.
