There once was a girl who lived in a village not to far from the forest. It was dark and scary the only one who lived there was the great Wizard of Terre. Every day the girl would walk on the edge of the forest peering over wondering what was in there? She begged and begged but her mother would not allow her to step foot in the forest. It was filled with wonderful and mysterious creatures that no one dared to see. They would lurk around swishing and swaying in the forest. But no one saw except for Little Red Riding Hood.

Her real name was Olivia but all her friends called her Little red, even the mysterious creatures. She lived in a ginormous tree stump between the edge of the village and the forest. She would look through her window overlooking the forest. She lived with her mother, older sister Kate, and her younger brother Oliver. There were only three bedrooms so she shared one with her sister Kate ( who was almost fifteen). Her brother on the other hand was only one. He would screech and scream through the night leaving Olivia to stare out her window.

That morning she woke up skipping down the stairs as she went. Until she arrived to the kitchen. Breakfast waiting for her at her usual spot. Before she ate she called for her mom who soon answered "I will be right down"! Then she took a seat at her spot slowly eating away at her oatmeal. Her mom came walking down the stairs holding Oliver in one hand and his toy booboo in the other. She smiled then said "wow look at the time Liv, you need to get to school". I nodded, kissed her and Oliver, then left on my way to school. With my red cape and scarf draped around my neck. The school was outside of my village in sunbrook. I would walk there every morning.

Through the entrance I went and up five floors and down the school hallway. It was a long walk and I was soon out of breath. The hallway was creepy, no sound was made. It was so quiet I could hear my own breath.  The hallway was decorated with long white and gold poles, dark red walls and dark colours. I looked at the time oh gosh I thought. I am already 20 minutes late! So much stairs... I really hated being on the fifth level. 

I finally reached my classroom 20th to the left. But when I reached for the door and stepped in it was empty. Then I realized it was gym! I was definitely not going down those stairs so I sat at my desk filling out some work sheets left on my desk. One by one each question was answered. So I went on with some more math sheets and by that time I could hear my class's foot steps. I panicked then pulled out a book and started to read they came closer and closer. What would Mrs. Hawkins do? I was stressed and sweating.

She looked me and without a word she grew mad and pointed to the timeout closet. I walked there with a tear rolling down my eyes. I stayed in the dark closet for a long time. The dark fireplace was creaky and old it made noise every second. I sat down there waiting and finally I heard her unlock the door and open it. She motioned for me to go to the classroom. And that is what I did. The students just stared as I sat down beside Robert Gilman. He was a smart and naughty child. Today he wore brown corduroy overalls and a blue short sleeve shirt. His dad owned the town butcher shop, I know that because Mr.Gilman always had a picture of his son on his wall.

I could tell It was almost lunch time and I was waiting for the lunch bell to ring not minding my teachers math notes. Then it rang! My whole class shuffled out of the classroom and down those long stairs. We reached the cafeteria on the main floor with the library and front desk. Today was Wednesday that meant it was grilled cheese and fries day. I guess it was okay, my favorite day was Tuesday. They served mushroom soup and a bun on that day. The creaminess and warmth from the soup and the fluffiness of the bun makes it perfection. I sat down at a table with Robert, Claire, Rose, and Scott.

We talked a little but we mainly ate our food in the twenty-five minutes we were given. Roger exclaimed "so who studied for the test"? Then my heart sank, "oh no I did not" I said! They were all in awe as I told them. Rose said "you better studied during our free time after lunch". I knew she was right. Then I put my dishes and tray away, then made it back up the stairs again. And yet again it took forever. By the time I was up the second floor Roger and the rest of the kids were on there way up. Then I reached my classroom the rest of the kids at my tail.

I did not have much time to study for the math test but I did the best I could. I mumbled "54...no 63.....um 72"? This was not going very well. Then the teacher announced "class get your papers out and get ready for the test. Oh no I barely knew the answers for the test. Again I mumbled " 12...34.. wait no 36...56. Then it was all over I was super nervous. We all looked at each other with fear and nervousness. She graded out paper while we read our books. Then she passed around our papers. My heart sunk again I got a fail!! What would mom do?

The rest of my day was gloomy, I had nothing to look forward to. And it passed by fast; before you know it the day had gone by. We all lined up to go back to class. One by one we were all in the courtyard. I waved to them then disappeared in the distance. It was a long walk from Sunbrook to Elmsville. Robert and Claire live there but Rose and Scott lived in Sunbrook. It was very windy and started to rain, that is when I started to run. Wind in my hair and the ground passing by my feet.

I past the forest wondering what was in there? I needed to go see what was in there but how? I decided I would think about once I had the time. Every day I would go to Ms.Tulips for an hour and a half while mom was at work. I could see Oliver was dropped off a while ago. And it seems that Kate is by herself at the house. I knocked on her mushroom house and she answered with a smile. I said "hi" then went to the kitchen to plan my escape.

I got a quick drink of milk and a quick bite of baby carrots then planned my escape. I drew a map of the house and the forest then I drew where my family would usually be and made plans to avoid my family members. It was tricky but I had a plan. I would go to my house and wait till dawn had fallen and everyone was asleep then I would go down stairs and go out the entrance/exit in the living room then I would go to the forest. It was perfect,brilliant,genius. Ms.Tulip called me over to watch Oliver while she made us supper. I watched him then decided to call Kate. I reached for the phone and started to call her. She did not pick up so I just sat and watch Oliver twitch and yell.
