CHAPTER 1:A MEMORABLE DAY IN  ITALY

When he finally settled in his room, he began to watch around. He worked hard to be here. When he learned that he had won Erasmus, he informed his family with great joy. Everything was completed within a few months and he settled in Rome,Italy. He was very excited about a new country. He wanted to travel all over. Learning Italian and English was a great opportunity for him. He took his coat and put it on. It wouldn't be bad if he had a pizza. He didn't know much about this place. He looked at the restaurants next to him and started walking towards a loved one. When he came to the front of the restaurant, he entered. This city was like poetry! While he was watching the buildings with admiration, he did not noticed the girl approaching him. "How can I help you?" he returned to her and offered a special Italian pizza.Then he started to wait. He put his Erasmus student ID card on the table.

 After a while, the girl returned with pizza.She noticed that the boy was an Erasmus student.And asked him "What is your name?" 

 He  replied :"Bartu"  "Where are you from?"from Turkey

 He was not Italian, so his name sounded different  for her.Then Bartu asked her name.

  She answered: "My name is Martina" Excuse me Bartu,but I have seen your card,You are an Erasmus student and luckily we are at the same university.If you need any help,you can ask me.Italian people are always hospitable"

There was Martina at the checkout. Bartu turned around with the voice he heard when he paid the bill. "Can you give me your number? There are so many things I wondered about Turkey. I will help you here if you want."

Martina and Bartu became very close friends..Martina was very helpful to him. She introduced the other students with him. Bartu met Danna and Samuel. 

One day,they were supposed to create a project in Social Sciences lesson.They decided to search for the countries.They created  a magazine as a final product.Their project was awarded with a holiday.They had one free week.They decided to travel Europe.One of the most popular film festival Cannes Film Festival was about to start.So they decided to go to France at first.

CHAPTER 2

Next step 

Paris "la ville lumière"  (the city of lights)

Bartu and his friends Martina, Danna and Samuel decided to go to Paris by train since 2021 is the year of the rail in the Erasmus programme , it is slower but really friendlier and even more eco friendly. They got a very good price with a 50% discount because they were Erasmus  students .

They were so happy to discover their train was decorated with Dragon Ball drawings!

It was very difficult to choose what to visit in Paris because they had only 1 week and they absolutely wanted to see some films at the Cannes festival , so they made a very strange decision ; they decided to visit a cemetery , the Père Lachaise cemetery , because there are several very famous people buried there . Martina wanted to bring some flowers to Jim Morrisson her mother's favourite singer .

Samuel wants to become an opera singer or an actor , so he decided to take his friends to the Opera Garnier. There was a rehearsal ! How lucky they were to attend it ! It was quite funny to see people wearing 21st century clothes and glasses  but 

with an 18th century wig !

Can you believe it ! This dress is made of chocolate !!

Our 4 friends are all sweet teeth and they went to the chocolate fair 

It is the  last day , it is sunny and the boys decided to walk to the Eiffel Tower

There are so many beautiful clothes here ! The Parisian chic !!

Guess where the girls went to ?

Now it is time to leave Paris for the festival de Cannes , the most famous film festival in the world ! En route !!

Next step 

Cannes, the festival de Cannes

Bartu, Martina, Dana and Samuel got the train to go to the Cannes. It took 6 hours to get to Cannes. The journey was so enjoyable.

On the first day, they went to La Croisette. They got a boat tour and walked along the beach. They drank coffee at a cafe then they went to the Cannes film festival.

They went to Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. They saw many celebrities. Especially girls were so happy to be there.

She looks so beautiful.

On the second day, They visited Musée de la Castre. Located at the top of Le Suquet hill, above the Vieux Port, Musée de la Castre is an eclectic museum in a 12th-century castle listed as a national monument. 

They mingled with the locals at Marché Forville, a covered market that occupies a 3,000-sq-m area located 150 metres northwest from the Vieux Port, behind Cannes City Hall. Established since 1934, it’s the most famous market in Cannes.

They went to a beautiful restaurant and they had supper. They tasted famous Mediterranean foods. They tasted a home-made Bouillabaisse (fish soup), battered courgette flowers, and sea bass fillet à la plancha, served with small cannelloni stuffed with squid. 

CHAPTER 4

Next step: Spain

 Unforgettable Moments in Spain

After spending beautiful moments in Cannes,  they decided to go to Spain the next day. The boys wanted to visit Barcelona and Madrid as both of them were football fans. The girls also agreed to go because they wanted to taste the tapas. They travelled to Spain by train.

When they arrived there, the first thing they did was to visit La Sagrada Familia. They were fascinated by the view from the top of the La Sagrada Familia. 

It is magical

In the afternoon, they went to Las Ramblas. It's a very large street in central Barcelona and they were also amazed at the street performers including human statues. Bartu and Samuel bought the forma of Barcelona. Martina and Dana bought souvenirs.

Great!!

Wow!

After a long walk, they felt very hungry, so they went to Casa Alfonso to eat tapas and paella.There they also watched flamenco dance performance . Bartu and Martina joined to the dance. They enjoyed themselves a lot. After spending the night in Barcelona , they went to Madrid the next morning by coach

And they arrived in Madrid in about 8 hours and started to decide where they could visit in Madrid. They learned , a stroke of luck, there was a Real Madrid- Barcelona match in Madrid at 8:00 p.m. So their plan is:

- First,  have breakfast in a restaurant.

- Next, visit the  Royal Place of Madrid.

- After that, go shopping for the football match.

- Finally,  go to the hotel to sleep.

And they arrived in Madrid in about 8 hours and started to decide where they could visit. They learned , a stroke of luck, there was a Real Madrid- Barcelona match in Madrid at 8:00 p.m. So,they made a plan. First, they had breakfast, after that they visited the Royal Place of Madrid, Martina also loved there, and they went shopping.

They went to Santiagao Bernabeu at 6:00 p.m. because they knew if they went there late, they couldn't enter the stadium because of crowd. They entered the stadium and match started. But towards the end of the match, most of Real Madrid fans with the referee's decision and they jumped on the field. So a lot of people were injured because of this fight and Bartu,Martina,Danna and Samuel went to the hotel immediately.

They went to Santiagao Bernabeu at 6:00 p.m. because they knew if they went there late, they couldn't enter the stadium because of the crowd. They entered the stadium and the match started. But towards the end of the match, most of Real Madrid fans with the referee's decision, they jumped on the field. So, a lot of people were injured because of this fight and Bartu,Martina,Danna and Samuel went to the hotel immediately.

While they were going to the hotel, they thought where they would visit next. They thought that somewhere peaceful would be good for them after full of adventure evening. For this, they decided to go to El Retrio park.  When they went there, they were very surprised because the park was very big. It wasn’t crowded because it was morning hours. They sat in a place with a beautiful view. 

Most people came for a morning walk, but

some people were taking photos. And some people visited museums .Then, they went for a walk in the park after breakfast.

A woman's dog ran away walking in the park.Martina and Danna started running because they were afraid of the dog  but Bartu gave it to its owner .They sat on a bank because they were tired and then they had their lunch in a restaurant.Danna and Bartu ate Tortilla from the famous Spanish dish.Danna liked the food very much,so she asked for the recipe.After leaving the restaurant, it started to rain cats and dogs.They went to a bookstore because the hotel was too far.

They spent some time at the bookstore. There were so many books and they all looked so good. Martina bought a magazine with photos of Spain's highlıghts to keep it as a souvenir and Bartu bought an adventure book. Then,the rain stopped and they started walking to the hotel. They saw a clown with colorful balloons in his hand on the way to the hotel. Bartu and Martina picked up a balloon and went on. When they arrived at the hotel, they started packing up because their stay in Spain was over. They started thinking where to go next.

A SURPRISING EVENT

CHAPTER 5

When suddenly Bartu's phone started ranging, Bartu realized that the number was Spanish. "Hello, I am seeing Bartu, right?" asked the unknown man. "Yes I'm Bartu" replied anxiously. "I am calling you from police station, there is a complaint against you. You're being expected in an hour. If you don't come, we will personally come and pick you up. We are waiting for you," added the man in a hoarse voice. He hung up the phone, starting to get worried, "What have I done?" asking himself. He went to go left and right by rubbing his head with surprise because he was sure that he didn't commit a crime. 

His friends were shocked too ... The doorbell was knocked just about twenty minutes after the phone call, they look at each other because they are not expecting a guest.  "Certainly the police came."said Danna. Bartu, who was trying to keep his sangfroid couldn't say anything. Samuel headed for the door and opened it.  The man burst into the room as soon as the door opened without any permission.

Bartu was astonished when he saw the man. "Uncle, ehhh" he said. "Ehhh young man, aren't you happy to see me? Anyway your little sister Sibel informed me that you are in Spain. Looks like you're about to go, luckily I caught up with you. By the way, there is no police or something, I got stuck with you, you didn't call me but we got even it. Well, young people, will you stay with me for two days and I will show you around Barcelona. Was my offer accepted?" asked the uncle.

Bartu and his friends answered "yes" together happily. Thanks to Bartu's uncle because of him Bartu and his friends' adventure in Spain was extended.

Next day in Bartu's uncle's house before leaving the table after breakfast, Batur's uncle Sinan and Tuba his wife asked the young people where they had visited in Spain. "We toured La Sagrada de Familia, Las Ramblas and La Casa de Alfanso," replied Martina. Uncle Sinan oh, there are more places to see in Spain, but let's not take your time, we will show you the must-see places in Barcelona in two days. Kerem, son of Uncle Sinan, "I'm coming with you, too." As far as I remember, this child was a baby, said Bartu . "My father told me that fathers were children like me," Kerim replied. Everyone in the hall couldn't resist laughing

First they went to the Hospital de Saint Pau, they were amazed because it's structure is completely different. They ate while passing through L'Eixemple. At the end of the second day they toured from Park Guel to the Arc de Triomphe, their excursion ended at the Bario Gotico Site. They look very funny, it can be understood from their eyes. "So it's not just la Sagrada de famila that he has to see in Barcelona," said Samuel. "What's the next destination young people" asked uncle Sinan.

CHAPTER 6

Next Step: "The Weekend Plan"

 One week passed so fast. They had to return Rome to fullfill their project. It was so nice to be travellers and discover new places but they remembered they were Erasmus students. Bartu's uncle and his family showed them great hospitality. They had great time and they decided to spend time together. 

Why don't we go to the Florence this weekend?

Great idea!

 Bartu, Martina, Danna and Samuel became closed friends they were on the same page. 

 Next morning they were at the campus and they were talking about their holiday in Barcelona. 

 While they were drinking their coffee they suddenly decided to spend weekends by going nearby places. Danna asked "Why don't we go to Florence this weekend?". Bartu answered "Great idea! It is possible to buy cheap train ticket." Danna said "Let's book our tickets as soon as possible!". 

 Four backpacker Erasmus travellers are in Florence now. They organized one day sightseeing tour. It is such a open air museum city. Florence is also the center of culture and art.

 Samuel offered to watch sunset view from Ponte Vecchio. They had Itallian pizza. Bartu asked to visit Tower of Pisa because it was not far away. They bought some souvenirs for their family. They took lots of photos. 

 Luckily they came early and the weather was nice. After they walked twenty minutes from the train station they arrived Pisa. There was so crowded. Everybody was trying to catch the best and strange pose. They also immitated and gave a lot of poses and they had fun. 

 Later they visited the museum. 

There was an alive music on the street. They listened and sang the the song together. They amused but it was time to back Rome for school. They had to hurry up to catch the train. 

CHAPTER 7 

THE BENELUX TOUR - PROF.DR. MÜMTAZ TURHAN SOCIAL SCIENCES HIGH SCHOOL-İSTANBUL  ERAY, ESİN, FUNDA, GÖKÇE, MELİH,MERVE, NEHİR,SUDENAZ, ZEYNEP (BAHAR  KALYONCUOĞLU)

Then they decided to go to Benelux counties. The first stop was Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It was the 27th of April !It was King’s day. Everywhere was orange and People were wearing orange dresses, hats, trousers… Bartu and Bartu’s friends bought orange clothes. They were shocked because Streets  were so beatiful and they were like a heaven.  They were enjoying so much for triping on the street and meeting new people. 

But then, Bartu saw a girl who was crying   and He showed her to his  friends ‘’ Look at the girl!’’ His friends realized the girl whom Bartu pointed at.

 The girl looked so scared and vulnerable in the crowd. They closed to the crying girl and  asked to her ‘’Why are you crying cute girl?’’ Girl said ‘’I am lost and I can’t  find my mom.’’ Martina hugged girl and asked ‘’What’s your name?’’ The girl wiped her tears ‘’I’m Julia.’’ Bartu smiled  ‘’ Julia, don’t be scared, okey? We will take you to the police station and They will find your mother. Don’t worry.’’ 

They and Julia went to the police station. Bartu explained the Julia’s problem. Policeman reached Julia’s mother. Bartu and Bartu’s friends waited with Julia. Finally, Julia’s mother came and She hugged her daughter. Martina started to cry when she see reunion moment. Julia’s mother said ‘’Thank you very much’’ to guys of us. Guys were so happy, they couldn't have fun but made the girl meet her mum. 

After King's Day, They went to the Van Gogh Museum because Bartu was the fan of  Van Gogh . Dozens of people were watching the pictures. Martina accidentally stepped on someone's foot and when she noticed this she immediately apologized. After this small accident, they began to watch the paintings and they were impressed by the paintings.

Erasmus students arrived in Brussels,Belgium from Netherlands. Martina wondered about "Grand Place". They decided to go there firstly. The buildings of the "Grand Place" were beautiful,wonderful and fascinating. Bartu smelled the odour of the coffee and offered to drink coffee with her friends. When he went to  their table, the dog hit him. So the coffee spilled his t-shirt. They went to the "Les Galeries Royales Saint Hubert" to change his clothes. Bartu bought a new t-shirt there. Samuel wanted chocolate. So they bought chocolate and they decided to go to the "Tapis De Fleur". The flowers here were beautiful. Martina took a lot of photos because she loves flowers. They decided to go to the brugge the next day.

Their adventures started their canal tour from Brugge. They passed from “Boniface Bridge”, with historical air together and they went to “Minnewater Park”. They went to “Grote Markt” after they took a lot of photos and enjoyed. Danna saw the horses and she offered to ride a horse together. When she rode the horse, she fell the horse. Bartu came  near  Martina to help her.  Martina’s leg was hurt. Bartu carried her to the hotel. He became like a hero. So he was happy. Next day, Erasmus students hit the road in Luksemburg.

They were all really excited when they arrived at Luksemburg. They were dying to explore the city.But there was something unexpected. Marina was warned about the cosmetic stuff at her case. Not willingly she left her stuff to the security. Although se was sad at first, she was happy to explore the  new places with her friends. The first place they went to was  Bock Casemates. They went and the guide started giving them information.-Bock Casemates is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Bock Casemates is in the northeast corner of Luxembourg City. Bock Casemates, consisting of long tunnels, is one of the most important tourist areas of Luxembourg. This place has been attacked and rebuilt over the years. The old castle's extensive underground passages and galleries are a major tourist attraction. Bartu  and his friends loved it here. They took a lot of photos so they wouldn't forget this place. It's a really great place to visit.
