Wassup peeps! My name is Ocean, I know what your thinking, why's the name ocean, well that's because I live in the ocean. And today's story is about me and my species, leatherback turtles.

In pictures, we may seem small but actually, we can weigh anywhere from 550 to 1500 pounds! If that isn't crazy enough we also can grow up to 6 to 7.2 feet in length.

Despite being huge we can't really swim that fast. The maximum speed for us Leatherbacks is just 22 mph. Man all this talking has got me hungry! Did you know that our typical diets include
jellyfishes, sea squirts, seaweed, and other small fishes?

A lot of us live in Florida, in the South East Coast. The South East Coast is very popular which means many people come to visit each year. Sadly, when more people come that means more trash build up such as plastic metal and much more which ends up in the oceans that we live in! This is very dangerous and harmful to turtles and other sea animals! So its your job to try reduce these!

Hi, I'm Sandy, and I'm from Florida! We have a very tropical climate here. An average low in Florida is 65 °F while an average high is usually 77 °F during the day. In Florida, we usually see sunshine often!

Even though Florida is often sunny skies we also see occasional strong cold fronts every so often.

From May through October we have a defined rainy season where we see thunderstorms. Through mid and late winter it can become severely dry in Florida!

For the most part, it tends to be very tropical in Florida making it a huge attraction for tourists because of our beaches and awesome weather!

Unfortunately, due to climate change happening at an alarming rate in our world, it affects the temperatures of the oceans and land. Specifically, it makes the environment warmer in Florida. As the years go on it climate change will continue to make the climate of Florida warmer.

Hi, we're the Humphries, and we have some complaints!

It's much too dangerous for us to live in, but we have to.
The Florida beaches we live on are covered in trash all the time! If only humans could recycle and not let trash get in our beaches and oceans!

Look at this beach, it's filthy! How is any turtle mama going to be able to nest in this dump?
SH! Here comes one now...

She can barely move there's so much trash! How do they expect these ladies to nest around here?
You're right actually, in 1995, only 34,500 turtles nested the entire year, that's only a third of how many turtles nested a few years ago!

These dang factories keep throwing their oil into our waters! I wish humans would dispose of their waste properly. Then, we sea animals wouldn't have to suffer.
