This is the story of a dog ...

There are many types of dogs in the world.The Akita dog breed is one of them. Akita dogs are renowned for remaining loyal to their owners.

But our story isn't about Akita dogs.

Our story is about Hachi ...

Once upon a time, an akita dog was born in Japan in November 1923. A family who thought that they could not take care of this dog and all of his other siblings at the same time decided to give their puppies.

In order to read the rest of this story, we must know the name of an important person in our story:Hidesaburo Ueno.

He was a renowned Agriculture professor, who was teaching at the Imperial University. And he loved dogs.

That's why the owners of the dog, gave the dog to Ueno. A strong bond developed between Ueno and this akita dog. Ueno named this akita dog "Hachiko". Hachi means in japanese,which is the lucky number of Japan, eight.

After a while, Hachiko and Ueno became inseparable. Ueno was on his way to a faraway city by train due to his job. Hachiko always escorted him to the train station. When Ueno told him to come back home , he was going home. He was returning to the station a few minutes before Ueno's return time.This was going on like this. Until that day ...

That day, they were heading towards Hachiko and Ueno train station as they did every day. But there was something wrong with Hachiko. Dogs can more or less see the future. Hachiko also saw something in the future that would upset him that day.

Hachiko was tugging on Ueno's leg, giving signs that mean "let's go home", and jumping up and down to prevent this terrible incident from happening. His gaze seemed to say "please stay", but Ueno didn't understand what he meant.

Ueno got on the station and left ...

In the evening, news came to Ueno's family. Hachiko was looking down sadly,because he was knowing what has happened. Ueno had a heart attack and died while studying with his students.

Hachiko went to the train station that evening, just around the time of the Ueno's train returning.

When Hachiko got there, he switched to his usual waiting place and waited for his owner, who would never come again...

Hachiko waited and waited. But even if Ueno wanted, he couldn't come anymore...

Hachiko went to the station every day and waited for Ueno until evening.

After a while, everyone who passed by the station knew Hachiko more or less. They loved Hachiko for his loyalty and decided to do something for him. A SCULPTURE NEAR TO THE TRAIN STATION!
