Before we start, what do you already know about the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, ask your parents and grandparents what they think happened in that period of time, and what they thought about that era.
In this book you will be learning about the Vietnam War Protests and Muhammad Ali through the eyes of Phil the fish, a professional at fin boxing.

In the Atlantic Ocean, there are special rules that need to be followed. Phil the fish is a green Fish, and the green fish aren't allowed near the same coral reefs as the red fish and need to find their own. Also, the red fish get better food and get to take safer routes around the water than the green fish do.
Although the fish are separate, they still live in the same ocean and get to meet sometimes, such as sports games. Phil the fish is a fin boxer, and is one of the best in this part of the sea.

Meanwhile, far away in the sea, the fish are fighting against the crabs who just want their freedom from the fish. Since the red and green fish live in the Atlantic Ocean, they both fight the crabs. But since the green fish are always being picked on, they are the majority of the ones going to fight the crabs.

Many of the green fish don't want war with the crabs because they think the crabs haven't done anything wrong. The crabs are just trying to gain their freedom to do what they want, kind of what the green fish are trying to do themselves in the Atlantic Ocean
The useless war against the crabs is causing innocent fish and crabs to die. Many schools of green fish try to protest against the war, but the red fish say no to an end in the fighting.

During this time, Phil the fish was told by the red fish that even though he was a famous fin boxer, he would still have to serve in the fight against the crabs.
Since he was famous among all the fish, he decided to say no to the violence, saying, "I have no issue with the crabs, what have they done to us?".
The red fish were angry; they took his fin boxing gloves and said he couldn't have a fin boxing match for a long time.
Phil the fish was sad, but he knew he was doing the right thing. He was the first famous fish to come out and say no to the violence. Since he did, other fish took notice, even some red fish. They thought to themselves why they were fighting the crabs, when all the crabs wanted was to be left alone. Soon, more and more fish began to say no to the fighting and eventually whole schools of fish were saying no.

No!
The red fish began to realize no one was going to fight anymore, so they called off the war. Phil the fish was considered a hero because he became a leader and rallied the other fish behind his cause. The crabs were allowed to do as they please, and all the fish in the Atlantic Ocean lived happily. Phil even got to be able to win his last fin boxing championship, where he knocked out Ron the red fish in one slap of his fins.
