Every god is born with a special ability. When Zeus created the Earth the gods and goddesses could use their powers on Earth. Although, a young god named Veintimos has never had a power or ability. Even
the goddess of wisdom, Athena, had no clue why her son had no power.
2
One day Veintimos decided to play with gods and goddesses his age. They always mocked him by playing with their powers, but that day they decided to just make fun of him.Among the gods, Veintimos was shunned; he could
never fit in with the gods no matter how hard he tried
3
Athena saw this happening and she decided that Veintimos needed a break from Olympus. Once Athena saw that Veintimos was home, she said, “Tomorrow do you want to go to Earth with me?”
4

By the next morning Athena and Veintimos were ready for their trip and Veintimos was excited beyond belief. Once they got to Earth, Veintimos got his first look at snow and he said, “ Can I play outside?”
“No, you’re going to catch a cold. Now let’s go inside this house, I’m freezing!”“Yes!”
“Then we’ll leave tomorrow and we’ll stay there for three days, but I will be with Demeter.”
“I’ll start packing!” Going to Earth was a big deal to Veintimos because no god his age has
ever gone to Earth.

By the next morning Athena and Veintimos were ready for their trip and Veintimos was excited beyond belief. Once they got to Earth, Veintimos got his first look at snow and he said,
6

Finally, Athena said “I’m going to meet Demeter, please don’t go outside.” As soon as Athena left Veintimos went outside.“ Can I play outside?”
“No, you’re going to catch a cold. Now let’s go inside this house, I’m freezing!”Veintimos was very disappointed, he really wanted to play outside,
but his mother said he will catch a cold. Suddenly he remembered, his mom is visiting Demeter! He devised a plan,
he’ll go outside when his mother wasn't home!
7

Finally, Athena said “I’m going to meet Demeter, please don’t go outside.” As soon as Athena left Veintimos went outside.
8

To Veintimos the snow was mesmerizing, he never actually played, all Veintimos did was look and touch the snow.
9

Veintimos was so mesmerized be the snow that he lost track of time and Athena saw him outside. Athena was furious! She brought Veintimos inside and said,
10

“Why did you go outside! You will catch a cold! Do you want to get sick? I’m the goddess of wisdom, don’t
you think I’d know what’s best for you?”“Mom, I know you’re the goddess of wisdom, but that means
you should know that the snow was really cool! I never really
played with it, I just mostly looked at it. What’s so bad?”
11

“What’s so bad? Maybe you’ll catch a cold! Maybe the cold can be one of those colds that ambrosia can’t fix! I don’t want
to hear another word about you going outside. Understand?”“Fine!” Veintimos was very furious. He wasn’t allowed to go outside because
of something that might not even happen! Veintimos thought he had nothing to lose.
12

The next day when Athena left to meet Demeter, she made it very clear that Veintimos wasn’t allowed to go outside and if he did Veintimos would be grounded.
Veintimos didn’t care if he would be grounded for a year, or if he caught a cold. Veintimos,
would do anything just to see snow, he didn’t know why he felt the urge to be near the snow.
13
He didn’t know why he wanted to be cold because of the snow, or why hefelt he was incomplete without the snow, so as soon as Athena was outof the door, Veintimos went outside. Once again, Veintimos couldn’t take
his eyes off the white wonder, and yet again, he lost track of time.
14
Athena caught her son red-handed and once poor Veintimos was inside,he started to sneeze and cough violently. Now she was beyond furious.
It was so bad that Athena decided
to end their trip short because Veintimos had a fever too. Once they
got to Olympus Athena took Veintimos straight to the healer.
