abuse: to use something for the wrong purpose in a way that is harmful or morally wrong
animation: moving images created from drawings, models, etc. that are photographed or created by a computer
authentic: known to be real and what somebody claims it is and not a copy

blog: a regular record of your thoughts, opinions, or experiences that you put on the internet for other people to read

columnist: a journalist who writes regular articles for a newspaper or magazine
culture: the customs and beliefs, art, way of life and social organization of a particular country or group
cyberbullying: the activity of using the internet to harm or frighten another person, especially by sending them unpleasant messages
cybercrime: crime or illegal activity that is done using the internet

database: a large amount of information stored in a computer system in such a way that it can be easily looked at or changed
digital: using a system of receiving and sending information as a series of the numbers one and zero, showing that an electronic signal is there or is not there
digital detox: a period of time during which you do not use mobile phones, computers, etc., because you usually use these devices too much
digital footprint: the information about a particular person that exists on the internet as a result of their online activities
disinformation: false information spread in order to deceive people

editor: a person who corrects or changes pieces of text or films before they are printed or shown, or a person who is in charge of a newspaper or magazine
e-mail: a way of sending messages and data to other people by means of computers connected together in a network
empathy: the ability to share someone else's feelings or experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person's situation

fake: an object that is made to look real or valuable in order to deceive people

generation: all the people of about the same age within a society or within a particular family

identity theft: the crime of using someone's personal information in order to pretend to be them and to get money or goods in their name
image: a picture, photograph or statue that represents somebody/something
informatics: Informatics studies the structure, behaviour, and interactions of natural and artificial systems that store, process, and communicate information
internet: the large system of connected computers around the world that allows people to share information and communicate with each other

keyword: a word that you type into a computer so that the computer will find information that contains that word

mainstream media: forms of the media, especially traditional forms such as newspapers, television, and radio rather than the internet, that influence large numbers of people and are likely to represent generally accepted beliefs and opinions
mass media: newspapers, television, radio, and the internet
media literacy: the ability to identify different types of media and understand the messages they're sending
message: a written or spoken piece of information, etc. that you send to somebody or leave for somebody when you cannot speak to them yourself
mind map: a type of diagram (simple plan) with lines and circles for organizing information so that it is easier to use or remember
