The legend of Rozafa castle (Albanian legend)
Once upon a time, there were three brothers married to three beautiful wives who lived in northern Albania. The three brothers worked very hard, day and night, to build a castle to protect their town, but every time they finished the work, the castle’s walls would fall down. They didn’t know why. One day, they met an old man who told them that there was only one way to keep the castle walls from tumbling down: a sacrifice. The sacrifice consisted of burying one of the wives in the wall of the castle, particularly, the first wife to bring lunch to her husband the next day. The brothers promised, for the good of the castle and town, not to say anything about the sacrifice to their wives, but the two older brothers, once at home, explained the situation to their wives. While the youngest brother said nothing to his wife. The day after, the three brothers waited anxiously for lunchtime. The wives of the older brothers didn’t come with lunch, but Rozafa, the wife of the youngest brother, came with her box full of delicacies. Rozafa’s husband explained to her that she had to be sacrificed and buried in the walls of the castle in order for the castle to be finished. Rozafa didn’t protest. She accepted her fate, but under one condition: the brothers would leave a hole for her right breast so her newborn son could feed, another hole for her right hand to caress him and a third hole for her right foot to move his cradle. The castle never collapsed.
The legend of Rozafa is about the strength of women who sacrifice their lives for something bigger.

•Many people describe Tbilisi as the city of kindness in the far east of Europe.
Our great king Vakhtang Gorgasali once hunted in the forests near Mtskheta, the first capital of Georgia. By the way, Mtskheta was the capital city for 800 years before they moved it to Tbilisi. So, while he was hunting, he saw a pheasant and killed it. After a shoot, he sent a falcon to find the prey, which was also lost. The king started to search for birds, and he found them dead in hot water. Gorgasali was shocked when he found this natural source and decided to found a city there, as he liked the location very much.

GORGASALI'S LEGEND
•The place where King Vakhtang Gorgasali, according to the legend, found hot springs and ordered the construction of Tbilisi there, still has healing baths and it is called Abanotunani. There were 65 mineral water baths in Tbilisi. Information on the baths of Tbilisi is provided in XIII-XIV centuries. Venetian traveler Marco Polo, XVIII c. Russian merchant Vasil Gagara, as well as Vakhushti Bagrationi, who counts six baths in Tbilisi.

THE LEGEND OF THE KARACADAG DRAGON
Etrafı tarihi surlarla kaplı Diyarbakır’a Urfa istikametinden gidenler Karacadağ’dan geçerler.
Bey’in kızının güzelliği dillere destanmış. Bey’in her işi yerli yerinde, merhameti bol, sevgisi çokmuş. Ancak o yörede bir dağ varmış. O dağda bir ejderha yaşarmış. Her yıl yüzlerce insanı yermiş ejderha.
Bey’in yanında çalışan bir delikanlı varmış. Marangozluk işlerini yapan bu delikanlı işinin uzmanı, elleri hünerli imiş. Her gören onun ellerinin hünerine hayran kalır, yaptıkları aletleri eşyaları hayranlıkla izlermiş.
Delikanlı günün birinde konakta pencere yaparken Bey’in kızını görmüş. Kız sanki bir ay parçası. Yüzü hiç hüzün görmemiş. Yanakları al al, hep gülüyor.
O günden sonra delikanlının gözü Bey’in kızından başka bir şey görmez olmuş. Ne yana dönmüşse Bey’in kızını görmüş. Ne iş yapmışsa Bey’in kızının aşkına yapmış.
Kimse ile görüşmez, kimse ile konuşmaz olmuş. Öyle ki annesi ile günlerce tek kelime konuşmamış.
Bir akşam annesi oğluna;
“Oğlum ne oldu sana böyle? Sen hep gülerdin, herkesle konuşur şakalaşırdın. Bu halin nedir?” diye sormuş.
“Hiç sorma ana…” demiş delikanlı. “Bana olanlar oldu.”
Annesi çok üsteleyince açıklamış delikanlı derdini.
