Our Heroes Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy


VOYAGE TO THE LAND OF PLANTS
This is the story of Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy.
They decided to go on a voyage around the globe to meet different plants from various cities and countries including Turkey, Romania, Spain, France, Albania and Italy.
Their motto is "there are no strangers, only friends we have not met yet".


Our two heroes decided to start their journey to the Land of Plants by visiting Kusadasi, called after the bird Island, a lovely sea side town by the Aegean region of Turkey.
Tulusah, the endemic flower, sent them a message asking for help: "I feel so lonely here, everyone is gone".
"Don't worry Tulusah, we are super heroes, with the help of Mr Windy we will blow your seeds all over the town and your friends and family will be back in no time, you won't feel lonely!" said the two heroes before heading to Istanbul for more adventures. Tulusah felt immediately better and was so grateful!

Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy came to Belgrade Forest in İstanbul. When they saw the forest they really liked it. The nature was great and they took deep breath to relax. They walked around the forest and collected some flowers as souvenirs. They saw a lot of dogs in the forest and gave them food.
In Belgrade Forest, people were so happy and had fun with their friends and families. Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy really enjoyed Belgrade forest, they rested and they continued to visit Istanbul and went to Gulhane Park next.

"There are a lot of must-see places in İstanbul" said Super Daddy Pear. Broc Boy answered,"Yes, I agree with you and I want to see Gülhane Park (Rosehouse Park) today". They learnt that Gülhane means, "home of the rose" in Turkish. Gülhane park was once part of the outer garden of Topkapı Palace and mainly consisted of a grove. They went to the Gülhane Park and saw a variety of very beautiful gardens, trees and pools with the impressive views of Bosphorus. They had a rest and enjoyed the peaceful scenery. They were very happy to have all these lovely memories.

Broc Boy and Super Daddy Pear continued their visit in Istanbul with Emirgan Park. It was so colourful. They both looked around in wonder. Broc Boy heard a voice: “Hello, my name is Red Tulip”.
Red Tulip told them that Emirgan Park was famous for its tulips which belonged to lily family.
They talked and walked around the park.
However, it was time to go. They said farewell to the Red Tulip in Emirgan Park. Then Broc Boy and Super Daddy Pear set off for Star Park.

Broc Boy and Super Daddy Pear met at Star Park while picking up flowers but unfortunately there was only one lilac. Super Daddy Pear picked up a daisy instead! The daisy was so beautiful, with its white leaves and yellow bottom.
Daisies actually bloom in spring from May until June. They have an average length of 25 cm. The leaves are thin and fragmented, without stems. There also is a yellow circle in the middle of the flower. Our heroes were so happy to have come to Star Park!

The lotus flower has huge green leaves. It was so pretty with its white, pink and purple flowers. Its roots were in the water, its leaves and flowers were out of the water. "I am the flower of Freedom" said the Lotus flower to our heroes.
Our heroes learned that it is used in medicine, also that each leaf represent a month. They thanked the lotus flower and happily set off on new adventures.

Broc Boy and Super Daddy Pear came to Istanbul Fethi Pasha Grove. It was lush all over. They could see the Bosphorus. There were laurels, gum trees, and linden trees in the grove. The wonderful smell of linden trees came to their noses.
Broc Boy and Super Daddy Pear toured around. When they went to the upper parts of the grove, they encountered red pine, stone pine and cedar trees. They chatted with them. They both loved it here. They did not understand how the time passed. It was time to go. They set out to explore Mihrabat Korusu.

Our two characters Broc Boy and Super Daddy Pear came to our
school trip to find out about Mihrabat Korusu.
Broc boy said to the Judas tree:" I was wondering about you!!! Could you tell me what kind of tree you are?"
- I am a ten-meter long shrub looking tree. At spring time, I have lovely pink flowers and decorate the Mihrabat Korusu area. I am also the pearl of the Bosporus Bridge!!!
Broc Boy and Daddy Pear were delighted they met this astonishing tree.

When Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy came to Kahramanmaraş, they encountered the reverse tulip plant.
- Why do you open it like this Reverse Tulip?
- They call me weeping tulips. In the morning, clear water drips like tears from my flowers. I used to cry because of the old pain.
Our heroes hoped that there won't be any more suffering in Anatolia. They expressed their good wishes and our heroes left for Samsun Turkey for more adventures in the Land of Plants.

When our heroes arrived to Samsun, they were surprised to see the lovely park called: The Cakirlar Korusu which is located in Atakum.
They were highly impressed with the lovely wooden walkways.
As they walked, they realized how beautiful the nature was with all the various species of trees and wildlife.
They particularly enjoyed watching the birds in the park and the lovely white flowers called Leucojum of the area.

In their journey through the "Land of Plants", the two heroes arrived in Turda, Romania. They really wanted to meet Paily, from whom they received a message: "Please come and visit Horea, Closca and Crisan High School, where our hardworking students study".

Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy started to travel around Spain looking for the most marvelous rose. They met many people who gave them clues where they could find the magical ROSE. The elderly Rosemary who lived in the mountains of Jaén, told them that they could find the most wonderful and magical ROSE in the beautiful gardens of
El Generalife, in the Alhambra Palace in Granada.
Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy were so happy that they ran and ran until they arrived to the Alhambra Palace.
When they were admiring the gardens, they couldn't believe what their eyes saw...

Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy continued their travels in Spain in search of new plants. In this mission, our two heroes looked for olive trees and they will have to investigate the fruit of this plant. Olive oil is called the golden liquid in Spain.
They will do this research on a tractor. They were so excited about this idea because it was the first time they traveled in this type of vehicle.

In their journey through Spain, our friends, Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy, visited many National Parks.
Skater Melon was waiting for our friends in Andalucia (south of Spain) and together they went to "Doñana", "Sierra Nevada" and "Cabo de Gata".

After visiting the South of Spain, Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy, decided to go up the North. They wanted to visit Navarra. They ate delicious vegetables such as artichoke, asparagus and beans…
Later on they visited the famous Park “Bardenas Reales de Navarra”, also known as the desert of Navarra. It was amazing for them to see the difference between the green and the brown of the landscape.
Before leaving Spain, they also visited Pamplona, the capital city of Navarra, famous for the San Fermines festival where people run in front of the bulls. That was awesome!

After Spain, our heroes headed to France. Lovely students met them and invited them to see the natural beauties of Charleville Mezieres, well known for its beautiful forest. It is called Ardennes and make a natural border between Belgium and France.There are many different endemic plants and flowers there.
They discovered the natural beauties and landscapes of Ardennes and went to swim on the Warren Lake to finish the day.
What an unforgettable day it was for everyone!!!

After France, our heroes went to Albania,they decided to visit the town as it was really attractive. After a while, they came across a sad flower called "Little Red Rose".They asked her: "why are you sad Little Red Rose?".
She told them someone separated her from her family pot and threw her in the middle of the street. Our heroes told her not to worry , they will help find her family thanks to their GPS watch. Little Red Rose was happy again with her family and wished them the best of luck.

Daddy Pear and Broc Boy arrived in Rossano, a town overlooking the sea .They visited the Amarelli Factory with the best licorice of Italy. At the front door was a meter high plant with oval green leaves. She was beautiful and elegantly bearing, on her head she wore blue-lilac color flowers.
" Nice to meet you, everyone calls me Dolce Nera, the princess of Calabria" she said. From my roots, an extract is used for the preparation of licorice-based sweets. " she added.

Achiropita Avena and students - Rossano Italy

Super Daddy Pear and Broc Boy walked the streets of the historic center of Rossano. "What a a lovely smell?" Broc Boy asked. From the garden of a historic building, an orange tree: " They are my orange blossoms!" Come closer and taste my juicy fruits rich in vitamin C, you can then go to the Clock Tower to admire our Rossano! "
From the top of the Tower, the heroes admired the green hills, in the distance the Piana di Sibari overlooking the Ionian Sea. Then they took off again while the sun was setting behind Mount Pollino, coloring the sky red and said: " we will always carry this beautiful land in our heart! "

Our two heroes got invited to the lovely area of Tuscany to see the fabulous Pino Marittimo trees that can only be found on the Tuscany sea coast. As soon as they arrived to the province of Pisa, they saw the lovely Pisa tower far away. They were astonishing tall trees on the way to the tower: they had a big foliage and high tree trunks.
Broc Boy said to Super Daddy Pear " Those trees look like giant broccoli". They both laughed as they walk towards the amazing Pisa Tower. They were so happy to have visited so many beautiful places.

In the last stop of the Voyage to the Land of Plants, our heroes went to Monterubbino, in the province of Fermo in Italy.
They heard about the lovely sunflower fields and really wanted to see these before going back home.
The sunflowers gave them a warm welcome and they ate, drank lovely local food including pizza, pasta and creamy Italian ice cream.
Our heroes were sad to leave their new friends, but at the same time they were so happy to have met so many friends and promised to stay in touch with everyone.
