




Preschool Children and Music
Music is an important and natural part of young children's growth and development. Interacting with music at an early age positively affects children's quality of life. (Fox ve Schirrmacher,2014)
Every child is interested in music from the first months of interacting with their environment. Not all children are talented in music, but all children love and need music (Gencal Ataman, 2008)

Music activities are studies that support the cognitive, language, motor, social and emotional development of children, while also affecting the musical development process positively. These activities in preschool education institutions consist of activities such as listening, rhythm, breathing, singing, playing an instrument, movement accompanied by music, creating a musical story, creative movement and dance. Through these activities, children learn to listen and cooperate with others. It also helps them gain self-confidence by supporting their social and emotional development when they cannot express themselves verbally. Music activities also contribute to the motor development of the child. By combining music with physical movements, children acquire the ability to act in a certain order in accordance with the character and rhythm of the music. (MEB, 2013)

Considering all these positive effects of music on our children, we started our "Discover the Rhythm Inside" project.
We implemented our project in February, March, April and May.
We have brought together the activities we have done throughout our project for you in this book.

Together with our families, we made musical instruments from recycled materials. We made our musical instruments talk using the chatter pix web 2.0 tool. We learned the features of musical instruments. Talking of our musical instruments was fun. Thank you to our parents who supported us.

Body Music, also known as body percussion, is a magical blend of composition and choreography. While music creates the shapes and patterns of dance, dance creates the sounds and rhythms in music. we formed a rhythm using our hands and feet according to a rule.

We used objects in an unconventional way. Sometimes we caught the rhythm by using our body. It was exciting to observe the development of our children throughout the project. We would like to thank all our teachers, students and parents who were with us on this journey.

Fun video that got the whole family moving !!
The grandfather playing the ukelele, the grandmother playing the maracas, the sister playing the tambourine, the mother playing the foreheads, the aunt playing the flute and a friend playing the drum. The newest member danced Break Dance, his favorite dance !! Everyone had fun and laughed a lot !!

At Chrome Music Lamp - Rhythm, we experimented and explored how rhythm works. The students created a wide variety of different rhythms using many types of percussion instruments. So they had the opportunity to listen to their own rhythmic musical patterns.
