James, a curious boy, was invited to spend a week at his Aunt Clara's house, an old, slightly spooky manor surrounded by large gardens and winding paths.

James was excited to see his Aunt Clara and his cousins Ben and Leo.

One day, James found an old note hidden in a dusty, worn-out book in the house's small library.

The note read: "Dear Lanor, I had to keep the truth a secret. The revelation of the truth would have lead to my death and most probably the death of you and your brothers. I am sure one day the truth will come out. As for now, I have left you a map that will lead you to all the documents that reveal the truth. Take care, my dear daughter. May God protect you and your brothers."
Your loving Mom

The note also had a hand-drawn map of the manor, showing several locations with strange symbols.

Eager to find "the truth", they believed they were going on the hunt for a hidden treasure. "Together we shall find the truth!" said the friends.

The friends studied together the map. It was an old, hand-drawn map of the manor's grounds. There were several faded landmarks marked on it. The friends found it difficult to understand the drawings on the map and they started guessing.
"Maybe this is a tree?" Ben said.
"But which tree? The garden is full of trees!" Leo said.
"Let's go to the garden, it will be easier," suggested James.

Holding the map, the friends looked around them to find a similar object to the drawing on the map.
'"Look!" Shouted Ben in excitement, "there, the fountain. This is not a leaf in the drawing, it is water."
The friends got closer to the fountain. It was an old fountain, that stopped working long time ago.
"Why would a map send us to some old fountain that doesn't even work anymore? What's the point of that?" wondered James.

The friends examined the fountain closely. It was an old fountain, big and round, made of gray stone. It had cracks all over, and moss grew in the corners. In the middle, there was a round stone, but no water came out of it anymore. The fountain was dry, and leaves had piled up inside at the bottom of the fountain.

The friends looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
"Maybe we need to make it work again!" Suggested Ben.
"But how?" Wondered Leo. "It's an old fountain that nobody had cared for in a long time."

Ben leapt into the fountain. In the center stood a round ball, covered in moss. He wiped it with his sleeve and squinted at it.
“This has to be it,” he muttered, gripping the ball with both hands. He pushed, pulled, and twisted, his face scrunched in determination. But it wouldn’t budge.
“Come on,” Ben whispered to himself. “Work with me here!”

Just as he was about to give up, a faint click echoed through the air. Ben froze.
“Did you hear that?” he shouted, his eyes lighting up.
James leaned forward, his hands gripping the
fountain’s edge. “I heard it! But… what was it? The water’s still not flowing!”
Ben grinned. “I don’t know yet, but I think we’re onto something!”

The friends stood up surprised. They heard a click but the fountain was still dry.
Ben scanned the fountain around him. The fountain looked the same. He looked at his friends disappointed.
He turned again to the ball at the center of the fountain and decided to turn it again to decide what was the clicking sound that he heard.

He gripped the ball tightly with both hands and twisted it again. This time, it moved more easily—and suddenly, with a loud pop, the ball came loose in his hands! He stumbled back a step, clutching it, as a hollow whoosh echoed from the fountain.
“Whoa!” Ben exclaimed, leaning closer. “What’s under there?”

Ben peered into the hole where the ball had been. Beneath it was a hidden compartment, lined with damp, mossy stones. Inside, glinting faintly in the sunlight, was a golden key with an intricate design on its handle.
“A key!” Leo shouted, clapping his hands. “It’s just like a treasure hunt!”
Ben carefully lifted the key out. It was cold and heavier than it looked. “This has to be important,” he said, holding it up to show them.

James frowned thoughtfully. “But what does it open? And what's that design on the key?"
The friends drew closer and examined the key.

"Is it a crown?" Leo asked.
"Yes, I believe it is a crown," said James, "but what does it mean?"
"Let's see where the map leads us next and maybe we will get to understand what it means," suggested Ben.
They looked at the map. They found music notes drawn on the map.
"What do you think this clue means?" Asked Ben.
"Maybe it means a specific song," suggested Leo.
"Or maybe it means the music room!" Suggested James.

Ben glanced toward the towering old manor behind them. “Only one way to find out,” he said with a grin.
The three of them raced toward the house.
