"Thomas was alone."
What a strange first thought to have.
Here he was in this strange place, yet,
it was the only place he had ever knew.
And here, he needed to do a lot of jumping.
Though, Thomas didn't mind.
He observed that he was quite good at this "jumping".

Thomas also liked to observe things, he noted.
Among these notes, he included this:
"This world seems perfectly content to provide increasingly difficult obstacles for me to overcome, and I appreciate the challenge. Though perhaps something of note, is that it continues to push me up, and to the right.

Why, he was just flat phenomenal at jumping, he thought, while bounding from platform to platform, hitting a yellow button near the top.
Short leaps, long leaps, it didn't matter,
he could leap over them all!
But there was one issue he had encountered thus far. This blue surf below him would send him back to where he started, and there was no jump in sight to overcome it.

But then, a large voice boomed behind him,
"Behold, your savior is here! It is I, Bethany, and I will help you across this murky wash!"
This puzzled Thomas, "Where did you come from?" He asked the big blue cube, "I did not see you jumping".
Bethany seemed to blush a little bit.
"Well, no, I am not great at jumping.
But when you pressed that button, an elevator carried me up."

"Well, if you cannot jump higher, how could you be my savior? In a place like this, the ones who jump high and far reign supreme! In fact, you just told me that you only got here because of my jumping," Thomas replied.
Bethany began to move, and whilst leaping over Thomas's head shouted, "Because I have a superpower!" She landed straight in the water, but to Thomas's surprise, she simply floated on the surface.

"Saddle up, my hoppy friend!" She called back,
and so he did.
Together, they continued this journey.
Thomas hopping when they needed a hopper, and Bethany swimming when he needed a hero.
And it was quaint. This dynamic duo could encounter no obstacle they couldn't navigate with their combined prowess.
