My long journey started as a young baby, I was around 16 months old,
my mum was woried about me as I was starting have swelling in my
abdomen (stomach), mum took me to the local G.P who checked me
over and said i was fine, I'd already been diagnosed as having Asthma so
when my next appointment came through (which was a little under a
week later) mum decided to ask the same question to the pediatrician.
when the day of the appointment came, mum got me ready and asked
my nan to come along too, nan met us at the hospital and we went into
the reception area they called us in and the dr checked my chest and
mum started to talk to him about my stomach. That's when he decided
to do a scan just to put her mind at rest. When the results came back the
in tire family was devastated by the outcome. Within 24 hours i had been
transferd to Birmingham Children's Hospital and been placed into
intensive care in a critical condition. After about 2 weeks i was
discharged still not 100% but well enough to go home.
CHAPTER 1
Also at this point in life my biological farther decided to walk away and
left me and my mum to struggle alone. I was told i was lucky to have
survived past 12 months without any kind of kind of treatment as 1 in
5 children survive past this stage.

CHAPTER 2On August 6th 2011 i went under local antistatic to have a tooth
removed. The drs decided to do routine blood tests to check how
things were. But when the results of them came back it was a shock
to everyone although i was still happy cherfull and full of energy my
organs decided on a different path . I was now in full kidney failure
and the liver function was deteriorating fast. Within a few days the
press had got hold of their new front page spread. "Tooth op Girl" or "
Could having a tooth removed save someones life" Evey news station,
radio and paper had got a hold of my story. We had phone calls left
wright and center asking could they interview with this amazing young
girl.

CHAPTER 3So, Next stage of my journey was the transplant assesment. it was me
and my mum that had to go, we were admitted to birmingham childrens
hospital, mum had to do numerousd meetings about well..... i dont know
what, i had lots of different test and examinations from head to toe, this
was to check my whole body other than my kidney and liver was all ok, i
had to sit through hours and hours of talking, at the end of the
assesment which took a week, we were sent home and then we just had
to wait for contact from the hospital to see if i ws well enough and stable
enough to go live on the transplant list, a few weeks later we had the
phone call to go back for an outpatient appointment, we were then told
the great news that i was to be listed imediatly as everything on the
assesment had come back ok.

CHAPTER 4All we could do is wait...and wait...and wait... until finaly we had the
phone call, or so we thought i was at school, mum and dad were told
that they may have a donor and that they need to get ready but to
hold on for 100% confimation. A hour later they again had another
phone call saying sorry the organs are not sutibale for keeleigh and
that it was a false alarm. And that all we could do i continue to wait.
So days went by the months it felt like forever, Until one day i had
just broken up from school for the christmas break on friday 16th
december 2011. I couldnt sleep at all it was strange as if i knew
something was going to happen, it was around 12:45am after i
eventually got to sleep i woke up suddenly as i could hear mum on
the phone to someone. I got out of bed and went in to her room as i
stood at the door way i could tell she was confused, i asked her
"whats the matter"

she ignored me and continued to speak on the phone when she hung up i asked
her "who was that " before she had a chance to speek she burst into tears. I
knew something was wrong mum never cries. After about 5 minnuites i asked
again "mum whats wrong" i was starting to get worried, "its time" she replied,
"time for what mum dont mess me around im tierd i have had about an hour
sleep" i said. "We need to go to the hospital" I replied "why mum i want to go to
sleep" at this time she began crying again she the managed to muffle under her
breath "they have a donor for you its been confirmd we need to go" "WHAT!!" I
said "are you having me on" "No" she replied and then it hit me i didnt know what
to do with myself all i could do is cry, i froze couldn't move i spent about 30
minnuits paniking anout what i was going to do. Next thing i knew we were
getting in the car. I must have fallen asleep because after that mum was waking
me up to say we had arrived at the hospital. I was scared but upset that i knew i
wouldn't see my brother for at least 2 weeks.
