Chapter 1: Kay's Story
Hello, Friends! I remember being happy and excited and looking forward to my best friend's fifth birthday party. Everyone thought Trina’s party was a hit. Everyone, that is, except me. My name is Kay.

When I got to Trina’s house, all my classmates were there, lounging, swimming or sitting and dangling their feet into the pool. Trina spotted me and rushed over saying, “I thought you would never get here,” and dragged me off to her room so I could change. "Join us in the pool when you are ready. Everyone is waiting!” laughed Trina, as she closed the door.
Quickly, I changed into my swimsuit and as I bent down to get my towel from my bag, I heard the door open. Instinctively, I knew something was wrong.
Activity 1: Sometimes bad things happen. It is okay if you feel sad, mad or scared. Grown-ups sometimes feel this way too.

Chapter 2: Kay Knows Something is Wrong
I spun around to ask Trina why she was back so soon. I became puzzled when I saw Trina’s Uncle Dan stepping into the bedroom. “Wh-what are you doing here?” I gasped at him. Uncle Dan had a huge grin on his face and said to me, “I have been watching you for a while, Kay. You are such a beautiful little girl."

I felt weird instantly. Uncle Dan reached out and grabbed me to give me a kiss. I shrank back and squealed, “STOP! DO NOT TOUCH ME!” I kept looking at the door expecting Trina to walk in at any moment.

Uncle Dan hugged me tighter and covered my mouth saying, “Stop shouting you naughty girl! If Trina and her mum come in here, I am going to tell them and all your friends that you asked me to touch and kiss you.” I was horrified and began to cry.
Uncle Dan walked to the door, looked back at me and smirked. He put his pointer finger to his lips and said, “Shhhh!” as he laughed and walked out the door. I grabbed my towel and wiped my tears. I crept to the door.
When I saw that the hallway was empty, I sped through the bedroom door, straight through the house, to the pool. Trina saw me and walked up to me saying, “There you are Kay. I wondered why you were taking so long.” I quietly said, "I am fine," and headed into the middle of a group of our friends. I spent the rest of my time at the party avoiding Trina and Uncle Dan.

ACTIVITY 2: Point to each picture that shows a Safe Touch. Say why you think the touch is safe.

Chapter 3: Kay Goes to School
At school the next day, whenever Trina tried to talk to me, I avoided her. I just did not know what to say to her. I also kept wondering if Uncle Dan had repeated his big lie to Trina and her Mum.

I became more and more withdrawn. I was afraid of running into Uncle Dan. Trina kept trying to speak to me at school and inviting me over to her house, but I kept ignoring her.
My Mum noticed the change in me and asked, “What is going on with you, Kay? Why don’t you talk to Trina anymore? Talk with me. I want you to trust me." I shrugged her off and said, “Mum, Teacher has given us lots of activities to do! Vacation is soon here so I will talk to Trina then."
