the bicentennial for me is about honoring the history of our past and how we became the people we are today.

It is important because I think it helps us a lot to appreciate what our great liberating heroes did and what they fought for, and just hearing that word makes you proud to know that you belong to this beautiful country.

I chose this image because it represents a large part of the Peruvian population that was oppressed for a long time

The Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru will commemorate the 200 years of the proclamation of Independence of Peru from July 28, 1821.

¡soldados! se os ha encomendado una tarea,

la única y más importante de su vida,

tendréis que desterrar la ociosidad,

la mentira, el robo, y la avaricia.

¡soldados! vais a pelear,

desde el último centenario,

las generaciones os han preparado para pelear con valor.

¿vosotros estáis listos? oh, ¡claro que lo están

¡soldados! el mundo entero los ve,

esta es su lucha, ¡ofreced vida y lealtad!

vosotros deberéis

entregar el corazón ,

por el nuevo Perú, por el nuevo vivir sin pesar.

¡soldados! ¡De pie, de pie, de pie!

¡formad vuestros pabellones!

¡tomad las armas de la dignidad!

¡hoy y siempre por la libertad sublime
