Customs and hobbies

The French have many important and pleasant customs: one of them is to greet the person accompanying the greeting with the title name. The usual treatment of people with whom there is no familiarity is the professional title or, failing that, Monsieur (Sir), Madame (Madam) and Mademoiselle (Young lady).

They also almost always use the tone of voice in public places, the French speak in a very low voice, so as not to disturb the rest of the people who are in the place.

In France they have many hobbies such as going to museums, libraries, old and modern buildings to explore their past stories.

They love going to concerts, theaters, festivals, and so on.

France is a country well known for its high qualifications in fashion, they make outfits that include sophisticated dresses, suits, long coats, scarves and berets. The term haute (haute couture) is associated with French fashion and, broadly speaking, means elegant garments that are handcrafted or commissioned.

They make all of these outfits by means of the designs that are generally first created in low-cost muslin, called toile. This “trial” design is used to refine the cut and touch up garment settings. The samples also record the cutting techniques, the exact seams, as well as the type of lining and fabric required in the final garment.

The French enjoy a variety of hobbies ranging from skiing on the great slopes of the Pyrenees and the Alps; Fencing, which is also widely practiced as a very popular form of self-defense, as well as Parkour, where stunts are practiced safely and efficiently, requires adequate motor skills and great jumping power. The goal is to move quickly and in a controlled manner.

Another hobby is shorthanded sailing which ranks among the favorites among the French when it comes to battling the winds and waves of the Atlantic and the seas of the world. The sport's peak takes place every 4 years in the Vendée Globe, which is a famous solo competition that takes place throughout the world, whose journey begins on the French Atlantic coast.

A custom in France that is generally not very comfortable for tourists is that the French will very rarely respond in a language other than their own, even when they know it. They appreciate that visitors try to speak their language even if they don't do it correctly.

The French have a hard time adopting and managing technology; Not surprisingly, the country took forever to incorporate the internet for wanting to cling to its then advanced Minitel system.

France is a very innovative country; p. For example, its citizens frequently used microchip credit cards long before anyone else, and pen, refrigerator, canned food, calculator, level (to measure horizontality) and short black dress.
